Let it Snow!

We haven't had a proper snow this year yet, and I'm jonesing for one like a little school kid. I could reeeeeeally use a snow day. Plus, on my way home from work, I got the perfect fun idea for a Strokes snow day fic *G*

Unfortunately, there are no snow days in hospital work unless we're completely banned from driving on the roads. If it gets bad enough, our hospital will call a Code White, which means that all personnel currently at the hospital have to stay at the hospital, indefinitely, until other people are able to navigate the snow and relieve them. They invoked this during the legendary Indiana blizzard of 1978. People take turns sleeping in shifts anywhere space is available, and if it goes on long enough, they might actually get to use the shower facilities too. *G*

I'm packing a duffle bag of clothing and toiletries, and maybe a CD player and a book, and another bag of food and drinks to take with me tonight when I go back in at 10pm. We've already gotten at least 3-4 inches so far today, and they're predicting 6-10 inches more the rest the day today, and other 5-8 inches on top of that overnight. It's blowing and drifting really badly too, so they're having trouble keeping the roads clear, and there are huge drifts piling up burying things here and there. A drift was starting to pile up behind my car last time I was out there, so wish me luck when I try and go to work tonight!
