tarotgalSo, yesterday was a snow day.. and today I had a one hour delay... which was much needed because they didn't plow my street. My mother helped me get out of the snow and down the street to the road that was plowed. I was worried I'd get stuck but I made it on my way to work with no problem... until getting to work.
They didn't plow our lot (which is a gravel lot in front of our little house) and I got stuck twice while trying to park. I almost hit a coworker's car but I managed to get into a parking spot... and then I got stuck completely. It was almost impossible to pack us all in there... by the end of the morning, everyone just drove into the lot and when they car got stuck, they just parked there. It was impossible to drive through- cars everywhere.
At the end of the day, we went out with a shovel my coworker had gone home for, and we dug each other out. We called it a pushing party. LOL We got Kristin unstuck first (and hers was the worst) and got her through the lot without hitting anyone else or spinning her wheels again. Hopefully, everyone else managed to get out as well.
I was next, and I got out without too much problem... but then I made it to the part of the road that goes up into a VERY steep and icy (and unplowed) hill. At the top, I saw a car stopped and stuck, and people pushing. So I couldn't go up (there's a major street there and only enough room for one car between the top of the hill and the busy road). So I stopped and waited and the teenage guys behind me (not coworkers) kept giving me rude gestures because I wasn't driving. LOL It would have served them right if I'd tried to go up the hill, then slid back to hit their car. But I waited and made it up without too much problem. VERY scary though. We totally shouldn't have to worry about this kind of thing. :-) I REALLY hope both my work and my home streets get plowed tonight! But I'm going to leave a little early tomorrow just in case. I'm scared about losing control of the car on all the ice (and everything out there is ice!) and hitting another car.
