What is it with you people?
Feb. 22nd, 2007 10:32 pmThe OC- *claps* As far as the series finales go, it had everything I could have wanted and some. I especially liked the fanservice- is that the right word for it? Anyway, I laughed A LOT and cried a lot. And I couldn't have asked for more from it, even though I'm very sad to see it go. I saw every episode- I was with it for its ups and downs, and it finished squarely in my "good show" category.
It's getting down to crunch time at work. One workday left before our big conference! It'll be my first conference and I'm terrified of fucking up. I've got so much to do and I'm scared about doing some of it. But I love my work and this is part of work so I'm going to suck it up and be the best damn webmistress I can be! I'm mostly just worried about the socializing parts- I'm not good with people. LOL
I have a new love- Christopher Snow. I just finished listening to Fear Nothing by Dean Koontz and really enjoyed it. The plot was rather simplistic and didn't impress me compared to the few other Koontz books I've read (none of which I liked as much as Stephen King books) but the characters TOTALLY rocked my world. Plus the narrator is the same guy who plays Holtz in Angel: the series! How cool is that? He sounds different most of the time- I could totally tell once I knew, but his Holtz voice and his Chris Snow voice are different. But I really enjoyed the book and now I'm going to have to try to track down 'Seize the Night' on audiobook.
I won two eBay auctions yesterday. I totally rock :-)
And... last but CERTAINLY not least....
OH MY GOD LITTLE MARAUDERS AND BROODY-GOTH!SNAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Snape: http://www.harrymedia.com/img/details.php?image_id=22788 (I think he's perfect and exactly how I'd picture him but most people hate the pic)
The boys: http://www.harrymedia.com/img/details.php?image_id=22789 (OMG Sirius' hair! OMG James' glasses! OMG Chubby Peter! OMG... um... blurry-background Remus? I really wish I spoke Spanish sometimes so I could read those comments... though I think "james es horrible" speaks for itself. Still, not too bad IMHO *wants flashback scene NOW*)
Mischeif Managed indeed!

Date: 2007-02-23 03:14 pm (UTC)Season 4 was a little strange, but I thought it was as good as season 1 in a lot of ways. Definitely redeemed itself in my eyes. Ryan/Taylor was a little odd... but it took a LONG time to happen (he was very hung up on Marissa, obviously) and it made sense as it happened, as much as anything makes sense in The OC.
Probably the finale didn't make a lot of sense if you hadn't seen the season or two. Especially regarding Summer and Taylor... and the Bullet- that freakin cracked me up. But I was really hoping they'd do flashbacks at the end to Ryan arriving, and they did. Yay. And the wedding- awww!
And the gay dudes- I definitely feel sorry for them. But they can get another house and I'm sure the Cohens will help them search. And they're such nice guys. Awww. Plus they got in two of the best lines in the episode, I thought. Yay :-)
Yummy Snape!
Date: 2007-02-23 01:41 pm (UTC)Other thoughts: Sirius is not as cute as I was expecting, and James really does resemble little first year Harry. Peter is easily recognizable, though speaking as one of the chubby ones growing up, I can only sigh as the old stereotype is reinforced yet again. My mental picture of Peter was always on the short, scrawny side, not the fat side.

Date: 2007-02-23 03:08 pm (UTC)Snape- ohhh yeah. Such a hottie. I totally want him *G* Plus, hey, we get to see underwear! heehee I'm very pleased with his look and hope the voice and acting matches.
Sirius- I think he's plenty cute... I really like his hair.
James- you're right about first year Harry. People hate his look because his hair is in place and not jet black... but he does look young, too.
Peter- I picture him as chubby instead of short and scrawny because that's how I thought he was characterized him in canon. 3rd book during the Three Broomsticks scene where Harry's under the cloak I swear Madam Rosmerta says something like "that fat little boy who who was always tagging along after them at Hogwarts" I think he might be described somewhere else in the book... possibly when Harry's looking at the photo album, but I can't remember exactly what is said regarding Peter, if anything. But maybe I'm mixing it up with that dream he had with Nev in the role of Peter. I dunno. But I'm SURE Rosmerta said something about Peter being a fat little boy.
