Bummed & Request

So I'm pretty bummed this week... not exactly sure why. Work is still great, and I don't think I'm fired from that job after all. I think I'm just tired and sick and depressed. Because there's a lot of fun things happening in my life (day off on Friday, probably going to a Caps game in April, Booksale this weekend at local library, getting my AnySoldier package out, lots of BC books in my mail recently, etc.)

I finally talked myself into going to the Highlander Convention in Vancouver in October. Adrian's going to be there and he wasn't at the con I went to in DC. And now I have a job and can actually afford to go. The VERY COOL extra tour package is, unfortunately, sold out. That would have made my entire life. But I can cope with just a very cool convention experience. HOWEVER, I checked my calendar at work today and our semi-annual board meeting falls during the exact same time. That's something I'm not allowed to miss for any reason. So no convention for me after all. Which makes me VERY sad.

I've been feeling pretty crappy lately, health-wise. I think it's probably just allergies, now that the weather's changing. Stupid freakin not-winter. I think if I ever want to make it through a few months being able to breathe, I'm going to have to move to somewhere colder. I've had a headache for the last 4 days straight, and my ears hurt. Throat hurts a bit, too. Yesterday I was sooo incredibly nauseous for hours last night. Not fun. And I'm just plain tired (5 hrs of sleep every night'll do that)

And the writing thing isn't happening either. I have quick spirts of really good writing, and then days without writing a word. I think the fact that I feel tired and like crap is contributing to that.



ANYWAY... I'd like to ask for some fic recs from y'all. Anyone read anything good lately? Preferably slash, preferably short fics (nothing with more than one chapter because I want quick, instant happy) and preferably HP and SW but any fandom I follow is great. Anything out there I should read? I want to read stuff. Thanks!

I've spent the last two weeks starting with the same thing. I'm beginning to think my machine operator at work is getting tired of listening to me sniffle and cough. Want to move to Antarctica with me?

I haven't been poking around reading aton of fics lately(mostly just yours...) so sadly, I have no recs to offer.I'm still plugging slowly along on your Christmas fic, so hopefully you'll have that to read soon.

*hugs* So sorry you're not feeling well and things aren't working out for your convention plans. I know I'd be crushed if I'd made plans for something as cool and fun as that, gotten my hopes up, and had stupid work ruin them. Hopefully there will still be other chances for you down the road, especially hopefully with sexy Adrian there!

I'd be shocked if you hadn't already read this one, but other than your own fics, this one is my surefire go-to fic when I want funny, sexy, HOT, in-character Legolas/Gimli smut and I want it in one shot.
