Harry Potter
Jul. 10th, 2007 10:29 pmSo I'm making my way through the first 6 HP books...
HP1- The "Harry Potter: the boy who lived" line sent shivers up my spine! I'd forgotten how much fun the early adventures were- in a world where Voldemort wasn't really alive yet and Harry was just discovering things about himself.
HP2- This is still my least fave of the books, but I still love it. I'd forgotten the scene with Snape sneezing, too *G* It was pretty creepy seeing Tom, knowing what he was going to be in the 5th/6th book.
HP3- Still my favorite, hands down. I practically squeed with happiness through every scene with Remus and/or Sirius. With all the Snupin I read, I'd forgotten how very much Snape hates Lupin (and Harry) here. I used to have Chapter 18 memorized word for word, but now I only have about 3/4 of it. I must work on that. But, yeah, I love this book SO much. So many fantastic moments... it was like getting to know Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs all over again and falling in love with the lot of them... except for that bastard, Peter *kicks* So many laughs and moments that remind me how much I love these characters *happy sigh* I had tears in my eyes at the end!
I started HP4 today. I'm up to the 'Aboard the Hogwarts Express' chapter. So I'm about 2 days behind in my schedule... I might spend the weekend listening to books... I was thinking of putting together all my Harry Potter LEGO sets and displaying them all on top of my tv unit. I think that'll be fun.

Date: 2007-07-11 02:55 am (UTC)We've already determined family reading order. My husband gets the book first because he discovered HP first(and because I'll be working all weekend). By Monday it will be mine, and my daughter will get it as soon as I'm done.
Are you doing the movie tomorrow? I'm dying to go, but my daughter has a sleep over(at a hotel) birthday party tomorrow until late on Thursday, so with work, etc I don't think we can go until Monday :( Unless I go alone to a late night movie, but I'll probably wait. My son doesn't want to see it(especially not in Imax) and my husband will wait for the DVD.

Date: 2007-07-11 04:02 am (UTC)The movie looks good... but not exactly what I picture in my mind. *shrug* Ah well. Watching ANY version of Snape's worst memory play out will rock my world, I'm certain.
One thing I'm definitely learning by working through the books again is how much more I love the books compared to the movies. :-) I really, really hope I can get through them before book 7 comes out! And I'd like to watch the first four movies again right before seeing number 5, too.
That party sounds SOOOO cool!!! Sounds like something I'd put together and go way over the top over... if I had friends in real life as obsessed as I was. I hope you have fun there! I'm planning to go offline all weekend while reading so I'm not spoiled. Hopefully I can get through the book in a weekend- I'm SUCH a slow reader. LOL
