1. My parents decided to install a washtub in the laundry room (which is adjacent to my bedroom). The first attempt went bad because the washtub they bought at Home Depot was cracked. They took it back and rescheduled the initial setup. Which was today.

2. I woke up at 7:57 this morning in order to watch the last few minutes of Angel before getting out of bed. Mom popped down at 7:58 to tell me the installation people called and were on their way over. I waved her away (I don't like talking in the morning, especially when I JUST wake up LOL) and she repeated "I mean, now!" I said I understood. Because I HAD understood. It only takes me 3 minutes to get dressed. So I went through my usual routine and as I was on my way out the door, Mom yells to me that they had arrived. Um, like I care? LOL

3. I came home after work and a few hours later, went to use my bathroom, only to find the carpet wet right outside. The bathroom and laundry room share a wall. Then I noticed the books by the room were wet and my hand and bath towels were very dirty and not hanging as I'd left them. I spent the following hour mopping up water...

4. The cabinet beneath my sink as well as spots in the bathroom were wet as well. I had to throw some things I kept under the sink out, and the rest we took out of the bathroom to dry in the laundry room. Grr. Why didn't they tell us they'd gotten water ALL OVER? Why didn't they tell us they'd used my hand towel to try to mop water up off the floor? *sigh* Not happy with them.

5. I went to take a shower only to realize halfway through that in cleaning out the bathroom, Mom had also removed shampoo from my shower. So I had to walk, dripping wet, from bathroom to laundry room to get it in the middle of the shower. *another sigh*

6. After a nice, warm shower, I went to check on the load of laundry I'd put in the washer and saw that the pipe that pipes the steam out from the dryer was lying open on the floor not snaking up to the celing and out. Grr. When they'd pulled the washer/dryer out to work on the installation, they'd dislodged the pipe. And the people who installed it did a HORRIBLE job. We're going to have to buy another one. It's pretty much the wrong size and they covered it in electrical tape so it stayed on, instead of getting a connector that fit. Arg.

7. While trying to get the pipe reattached, we noticed the nice oriental rug we got from my grandparents' house after they died was wet in places. So we had to haul the enormous thing through the laundry room, through my room, up the stairs, through the kitchen, through the family room, and out onto the porch which is they only place we could spread it out mostly and not have cats claw it. And because my mother can't lift anything heavy, I did all the heavy stuff.

8. I had to take another shower after that. But HOPEFULLY that's the end of the story. LOL Not the nice quiet night I'd hoped for! And there's bits of drywall on the floor, and the carpet is still a little wet in places. Lots of fun.
