Story progress & Shtuff
May. 14th, 2003 04:58 amI'm sobbing again- this time after Season 3 ep 1 of QAF. Yeah, to hell with the 'I'm going to watch them all again before I start season 3' That didn't happen. Apparently I don't do waiting well when I have a choice LOL Then again, self control hasn't really been my thing since grade school. Wonder why that is... maybe it's something I should really work on. ANYWAY, I'm fucking glad Brian decked Michael after he made that comment. But I just want things to be happy again for them all. Less fighting and more loving. But that last scene where Brian is PAYING for sex with a Justin look-alike killed me. I was sobbing so hard.
The whole ep- hell the whole series- has made me think a lot about what sort of person I want to spend the rest of my life with... which I guess is a good thing. It's made me think a lot about love and sex and desire... and it's made me think that there really are some great tv writers out there left :-)
*sniffles* Anyway, I've been working a little on the Sirius & Snape fic (but the next part isn't ready for posting quite for a while yet) and I've been working on my new Ron fic(The Vampire), which is a lot of fun to write... poor little Ronald :-) Research for the fic has slowed me down a bit and probably will some more as I work on it. But I DO need to get a bit of real work done tomorrow as well, so we'll see how it all goes.
OH! I watched 2 episodes of Weiss Kreuz today- is that spelled correctly? It wasn't OAV (what's that mean?) They were episodes 2 and 4. 4 was very Ken related- I learned much and enjoyed quite a lot! I'm sort of watching them as I get ahold of em... which is a VERY slow process currently. Maybe I should think about renting? I dunno if that's an option- I'm sorta in the boonies and there's never been a very wide selection of anime around here. Anyway, I really enjoyed them... kinda took me back to my previous anime experiences. But the boys are just so cute it's rather hard to compare! heehee They seem very deep and like a very fun bunch to get to know as far as their dynamics as a team and relationships with one another. :-)

The Weiss OAV just plain rocks... Very interesting storyline, great animation, and, of course, lots of Ken x Omi! (Can you believe that Aya x Ken seems to be the 'canon' couple in Weiss fandom? Not a tremendous fan of it myself...) :)
As for renting, that might be an option if you have an anime rental store near you (like Pandora's in Collegetown, MD) and can get a subtitled video or DVD. Otherwise, you might end up getting the dubbed version, known in the U.S. as 'Knight Hunters.' Not a bad dub, really, save for the guy they picked for Aya's voice *shudder*... But then no one can hold a candle to my Koyasu *snuggles him!*.
Hooray, looking forward to more fic from you! I love the Snape/Sirius one... Such a great dynamic between the two. I love how it's taking them as long as they are to actually act civilly towards each other. And yay, more Ron fic! Can't wait to see what you've come up with. :)
Thanks!
Date: 2003-05-14 04:42 am (UTC)Anyhoo... glad you've enjoyed the Sirius & Snape fighting. I'm sorry to see the fic pointing me towards an end... which is probably why I've started working more slowly on it, to make it last. I don't do humor well, so joke fighting is sort of difficult at times as well... I've been very surprised and pleased the fic has gone over as well as it has. It's really helped me see Snape in a new way, too. As there's only two moments of Snape/Sirius interplay that we actually see in the books (and no moments where they're alone together) it was somewhat difficult to wrestle with their instincts and the 'plot'.
And Ron... poor Ron... I've got him sniffling and sneezing on the middle of the night at a gypsy camp at the moment. All cold and without a bed and not wanting anyone to know he's sick. Poor little one. I haven't decided if I'm going to post the fic all at once or in parts yet. I keep going back and adding things as I write, so I think this one might work better as an all at one time thing. I do have a number in progress already anyway. But I'm making good progress and as long as I only end up spanning 4 days instead of a full week, it shouldn't take too long to write. *crossing fingers* It's so totally out of my hands at the moment :-)
