I'm home. Funeral & service was very difficult and emotional but beautiful and I know my Grandmother would have loved it. WAY too religious for me, but Grams definitely would have loved it and it was in her church, so I'm very glad about that. It was also wonderful to see so much of my family (surprising, since I was dreading that part). But I got to see two cousins I haven't seen in, like, 15 years (even though one apparently lives about 15 minutes away from us!). I also got to meet my cousin's two baby girls (who are a little rowdy but sweet as anything). When my dad and his four sisters went downstairs to discuss important things, that left two uncles in the kitchen, talking, and the rest of us (the cousins) to bond in the living room, talk about old times (playing in the cornfields, playing poker for dollar store candy, playing jokes, etc.); it was also a great reversal since every time we visited Grandma & Grandpa's house, all the kids were always sent downstairs and yesterday we had the run of the upstairs for a change. I think Grams would have been happy to see so much of her family come together :-)
Getting there was a WHOLE different story, which I will relate later when I have the energy. But let's just say I almost made it there and then I had a ticket home and was almost sure I wouldn't make it. I'm SO glad that I did, though.
But, yeah, exhausted now. Will post later.
