Challenge fics
Mar. 11th, 2008 12:21 amYesterday I looked at the list of bunnies for the SF challenge and, miraculously, one of them jumped out at me. So I sat down and wrote a Harry Potter fic based on it. Today I came home from work and edited it a bit. I'm glad I did because there were some canon errors I would have been embarrassed about. It's my first ever attempt at post-DH canon fic... and I think it turned out all right.
I was updating the site with the headers/story count and another bunny jumped out and bit me! ANd this is after months of staring at them and not being the least bit inspired! I don't even know where this one came from! It's a short ficlet/drabble type, but still used 6 words/phrases when I only had to used 4, so I totally rock. LOL
And so now I feel a little more productive. 3 challenge fics is definitely a good showing for me. I was afraid I'd only get the one done. I started a Marauders fic for the challenge and abandoned it because... well, it sucks. But now I've got three fics, and still a couple weeks to go in case something else jumps at me. But I'm happy now. Big sense of accomplishment, especially since I was feeling SO stuck with the challenge bunnies for the longest time.
They either hit you or they don't!
