I was planning to go shopping for new shirts... but parents wanted me to go to open houses, so I squeezed that into my schedule and cut out the shopping trip. I realized yesterday that the sleeve on one of my shirts was completely ripped open and can't be mended. Half the shirts I own have holes in them of varying degrees-- I'm getting kind of tired of that.

Anyway, the open houses were good... but depressing. For some reason, my mother selected two places that were $70,000 more than my "absolutely the maximum I can spend" amount and $100,000 above my "this is what I'm comfortable spending" amount. So obviously I fell in love with the last one. It was GORGEOUS. A little dining room off the kitchen that was on a split level with the living room below, so you had the gorgeous sun coming in through huge windows, the biggest bedroom I've ever seen in my life, ROOMS of storage space for all my stuff, and a beautiful hardwood spiral staircase going upstairs. *sad sigh* I might call my parents' realtor and ask her to show me around the condos in the area that ARE in my price range. But I don't have enough for a decent downpayment yet and I haven't finished paying off my student loan. And there's no telling how the car will do (just dropped it off for inspection). But the housing market is SO bad it's a dream to a first-time buyer like me.

I went and saw Prince Caspian again today. There are only a few theaters in a 50 mile radius still showing the movie after all this time, and there are so many other movies out, so I was expecting to have the theater pretty much to myself. However, it was pretty well packed in there! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I went. Totally worth the $8.25 to see it again. I'm totally in love with that movie, and burst into tears several times again. I just got a notice from Amazon.com saying they shipped my package which includes the soundtrack. Excellent. *happy sigh* If the movie comes to University Mall theater, I'm totally going to see it multiple times. That movie is so very beautiful on the big screen. I know it's not completely canon, but with the exception of Caspian's age, I think I like it better than the book really. The sibling dynamics alone are fantastic and all the kings and queens get their own moments of glory (though Ed still rocks my world and I'm still the biggest Lucy fan ever).

I also finished off a disc of Doctor Who... the 1963 series with the first Doctor. It was the first series of episodes with the Dalecks. Fascinating, but not the least bit scary to me. LOL But now I realized I could have watched it with text commentary the whole time. Arg. Well, now I'll know for the next disc. I think it's coming to me out of order (doh) but I've got a huge master list of all 700+ episodes so I can keep track of which I've seen and which I haven't. Nine and Ten will still always have my heart... but it's really neat to see what they did with the doctor in his earlier incarnations and how he's developed over the years.

Also... I'm going to put up a new mood theme at LJ ASAP...

Yay, you got the Ianto mood theme! I'm grabbing it as soon as I find a header I like and convert my LJ over to Torchwood themed.

I'm interested in learning more about classic Doctor Who as well. It seems a really daunting task tracking all that down though. My mind started spinning after just a little time reading about the history and all the companions on Wikipedia. I have a feeling more knowledge of old Who would have enhanced Ep 4x12 that I just watched yesterday. (btw, it rocked, though I was spoiled for various chunks of the finale as well as future casting details, so I didn't find the cliffhanger all that horrible, but it was still thrilling!)

Sorry, forgot to reply to the other half of your message.

The house sounds gorgeous! Makes me wish I had shopped around a little harder before building the house I have now, but I'm glad I chose a villa so I don't have to do much in the way of outside chores.

And more proof DW/TW has stolen my life: I have seen ZERO movies in the theater this year. And I had more on my to-see list this summer than in many years past, too. Nothing is stopping me from seeing The X-Files movie though...nothing.
