MVP- Help?!
Sep. 2nd, 2008 10:39 pmMom and I just stumbled upon a Soapnet commercial for a show called MVP. It's a Canadian show about hockey players and their wives/playmates that was apparently filmed in 2006 but aired here in the US on the SOAP channel from June-August. Don't know why there was a commercial NOW for it because season 1 is over and season 2 was never confirmed by the production company.

Anyway... seems pretty difficult to get a hold of it now, which is depressing. It's rumored to have episodes online somewhere, but I can't find them. (I can find bits and pieces only and definitely not a whole season's worth of full episodes). The DVD is $40 at the CBCShop (which is having a 50% off sale on hockey stuff, FYI) but I'm hesitant to buy a whole season of a show I might hate... especially when there are whole seasons of shows I love that I want to buy first. Especially since $40 Canadian is, like, $100 US now that my country's economy has gone down the toilet.
Arg. Anyone know anything about this show and have any advice? I'm not above watching soap opera-ish crap if it has to do with hockey players. Goodness knows I just finished reading the WORST hockey romance novel in the world but I read every word because it's *hockey* you know? I mean, hello, I own copies of Cutting Edge & the Mighty Ducks to fill the offseason lull. LOL
So, yeah. I thought I'd ask here. If anyone has Netflicks, can you check on it for me? It's not on Blockbuster Online (but considering it's not even at Amazon.com I didn't expect to find it on Blockbuster). if anyone knows of any kickass downloading sites where I can get a taste from the beginning and know what I'd be buying? Or... have you seen this show and I just shouldn't bother? 10 episodes of awful hockey smut not worth it?
I've seen this site:

But bits and pieces aren't very helpful. Amusing, yes. Helpful, no.
Why are all the things I want to get into impossible to get a hold of? No Jeremiah Season 2 on DVD. Farscape DVDs are impossible to track down and get on Blockbuster Online. This is... well, I just rambled on about it.

Hmmm. Yeah. I definitely think I'm a dork :-)
I suppose I did exaggerate a bit regarding the exchange rate. But I remember when we used to playfully make fun of Canadians for having worthless money in comparison with ours.

I'm not sure if all the links work, but it may be enough to give you an idea, at least.
