The Remus Lupins
Nov. 17th, 2008 02:05 amAwesome day for me. Got to sleep in as long as I wanted. Then I watched The Importance of Being Earnest (2005 version- mmmm). Then I went to the coffee shop for a write-in and got most of my (hopefully) very hot 'main character has gay sex for first time' scene. I passed the 30,000 mark and celebrated in the company of other writers. Yay!
Then I went to The Remus Lupins concert at my local library. One of our group members, Snidget, is also a Wizard rocker and opened for Remus. She was all kinds of awesome- make me cry twice because her songs were so beautiful/sad. And then Remus went on. He broke two strings and not a lot of people turned out (room was about a third of the way full) but otherwise it was fantabulous. He played most of my favorite songs of his (wanted him to do the Tonks apology song and the Teddy Lupin song, but, well, that's what I have his CD for) and it was neat and intimate. And Snidget and Maggie actually got me to dance during the last song. ME! The person who refuses to dance unless it's the Electric Slide. Me! Dancing! (Or, well, moving my body to an extent beyond clapping) I'm sure it was awful and my fearless leader got the whole thing on video, damn her, LOL but it was awesome and, well, kinda fun. Half of the room was our group, so it was kinda like being at a concert specially for your friends. It was a blast. Doesn't hurt that Remus is so hawt. *fans self*
I ran out to my car when it was over and got my copy of one of his CDs to have him sign it. He signed it with his name and "MARAUDERS FOREVER!" Squee! He probably got the hint that I dig the marauders since I was wearing my "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" hooded sweatship that Lady K gave me for Christmas last year. heehee!
Definitely a different experience from the Wizard Rock Festival in NYC, but a fun one nonetheless.
