Holiday Giftfics- 2008 (sort of)

Usually by this time in the year, I've posted about holiday giftfics. I'm afraid this year I'm doing something different so I have both GOOD and BAD news.

The bad first: I'm not going to take new requests this year for the holidays. I'm SO far behind in my writing and I feel guilty enough already without adding 20 new fics to my lists.

The good: I'm going to spend the time writing and finishing fics for LAST year's requests.

Here's the list of what I need to write:

For Lady Korana- Summer 2007 request- Legolas/Gimli- Started but hate it so I might start over
For Lily Frost- Holiday 2007 request- Lord of the Rings- Glorfindel- having trouble with this
For Niki- Summer 2007 request- Harry Potter, finish Under House Arrest
For pnkelephante- Holiday 2007 request- Sleepy Hollow- Ichabod
For silentdreamer789- Summer 2007 request- X-Men Evolution, Cyclops or Van Helsing

If you're one of the people listed here and I don't have a big ol' boldStarted next to your fic, and you want to change your request, you are more than welcome to do so at this point (I know how interests change over time). If you're not on this list, I'm terribly sorry that I won't be able to write anything for you this holiday season. You're welcome to enjoy other people's requests, naturally and please stop by next year at this time when I hope to be all clear and ready to take new requests :-)

Oh, giftfics! In my year of lurkerdom, I completely forgot to check if you'd been able to write my qaf request. You totally had, and it totally rocked. I'm SO unbelievably sorry for being so utterly oblivious. I'm mentally organizing fb as I type. :)

As for current giftfics, there are enough of my favorite pairings here that I think I'll be a very happy girl come the holiday season. But, would you like a fic? I get so much enjoyment out of your fics; I'd love to write you one if you've got anything you'd like to see. Well, anything within the HP, SW, QaF, LotR or Twilight fandoms (though Edward might be the only character I could write sneezing). I'm definitely more experienced in HP and, to a lesser extent, QaF, but I'm game if you are. :) I could probably do some of the movie-adapted comic book universes too (Batman, X-men, Iron Man, etc) with a point in the direction of a plot (or a pwp). Any characters, any pairing, any rating, anything you'd like to see (if you have an idea).

Just let me know. I promise to check your lj this time. :P

Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed your giftfic. It's so nice to play with the QAF boys from time to time. I see a few episodes every week on the LOGO repeats and that always puts me in the mood for more :-) Sorry again for it being so late!

I might have to think another day or two about your offer- THANK YOU for being so sweet! I'm leaning towards HP or QAF actually. I've been on such an HP kick lately but there are so few QAF sneezefics out there. Yeah, give me a day or so more to think. *hugs* :-)

OMG I totally took too much time. If you've already started writing something, that's fine. Go with that. If not... what I'd really love is an HP fic set after book 7 sometime. Maybe with a 20-something Teddy Lupin? He can be with Victoire, but I kind of prefer him with Charlie Weasley. Teddy/ANY guy or just gen is fine, too. Or Neville or trio or George/Lee or really anybody would be great. Seriously. I just love reading fics lately that are set sometime after the series.
If you go with Teddy, I'd love kind of a wild, maybe rebellious Teddy who's sort of taken down a few pegs because he has a cold that's kicking the spirit out of him.
If you go with anyone else... I'd still prefer a coldfic. Maybe something dealing with the challenges of rebuilding their world? Or the emptiness/directionless they feel once things are fixed/set right.

Okay, so if you're not down with that... a QAF fic would rock my world, because there are so few. I'd love if maybe Brian caught a cold from one of his tricks by kissing him even though he promised Sunshine he wouldn't kiss anyone but Justin. So he tries to hide it from Justin-- maybe goes to Mikey for help? Or maybe not. I dunno. However you think he'd try to cope with it.

And absolutely no pressure to get it done in any reasonable amount of time (obviously- look at all the fics I haven't finished yet). And if the muses aren't wish you, I more than understand. But thank you thank you thank you again just for offering.

You could do that. Oh! Or I could also go for a Psych Shawn/Lassie fic. Slashy but not too, too slashy, if you know what I mean. Cute little innuendos like on the show and such but a little bit more...if that even makes sense. You can write whatever you get inspired to write, I'd be more than happy with anything! Hmm. Not sure I'm clever enough to do it well but I will do my best, for Shawn's sake. Do you have a preference as far as who you want to see sneezing? Cold/allergies? Situation?

It doesn't really matter, you can write whatever comes to you, I like both characters equally. I will be happy with anything, really. If nothing comes to you, you can write a Life on Mars fic or something else. I'm really quite flexible and easy to please. I'm just happy you offer to write something for me at all. :-)

Psych would be a LOT easier for me to write than a Life on Mars fic since I've watched Psych for years now and I've only seen, what 6 LOM episodes? However many have been on.

I think it might be fun to try a Lassie fic. He's so stuffy and proper (though I know he totally thinks he has a fun senses of humor).

Oh, I am so changing at least one request to Torchwood! Trouble is, I completely forget which plot bunny elements I had requested for any of them so I'll have to do a little checking.

I'm actually relieved, for your sake, that you're not taking any new requests. I didn't even want to bring the subject up because I knew how very many things you were already juggling at once. Please take some time this holiday season for yourself to relax!

Oh wait, now I remember my Legolas request from last Christmas! yeah, that's a good one I don't think I want to let go. Mmmmm....*dreamy sigh*

Feel free to drop the Legolas/Gimli one you started but hate, and change it to some Ianto/Jack yumminess if you like. I think I'd like something set in Season 2 or later, after their relationship is more solidified, with a run-down, overworked Ianto. Other than that, you can do what you want with it...heck, even use it for the Winter Challenge too if you'd like to kill 2 birds with one stone. Whatever you like.

Too late, I've already started a Ianto fic. It is AWESOME in my head but it's not coming out properly yet when I try to write it, but I'm totally on top of it. One sniffly teaboy coming up pretty soon :-)

EDIT- and by "Too late" I mean you won't be waiting for the Winter Challenge to be over. It'll be done far sooner.

I was going to ask which of the three you preferred most, because I'm happy to do any of those. I've never written a Doctor Who sneezefic but I'm willing to give it a shot.

HOWEVER within the past day an NCIS coldfic bunny jumped out at me and demanded my attention. I have a question for you though. I love Tony/Gibbs slash but I don't know if that's your thing. Would you want it to be a team gen thing? Or slash? Or het? I can work this bunny in any direction I just don't want to get too far in until I know what you'd prefer.

I would normally prefer it to be more of a team gen thing than either slash or het(I can't personally see Gibbs in a relationsip with any of the team), but if a slashy fic is begging to be written, I wouldn't say no! It's lovely of you to do it anyway, so whatever feels right.

I should be able to tone down the Tony/Gibbs-ness that's running through my head. Telling Tony to take it easy doesn't always work (as you can probably imagine), but I do adore the team vibe so I definitely don't mind everyone jumping into the story! :-)

I would never forget a holiday or request I ask for and promise to fulfill. I am SOOOOOO sorry it's taken me so long to finish these. I feel horrible about it and hope the fic is worth the wait!

If you go to the Yahoo sneezefic group and do a search for the term, you should get the story thus far, posted in parts. I need to go through and re-read the whole thing before I write any more at this point, so I might make some edits. And when I finish the last chapter I'll post the edited/final version in its entirety here.
