Life is a Happy Meme
1. Post about something that made you happy today, even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this every day for eight days.
3. Tag eight of your friends to do the same.
Day Eight:
1. Caught Nathan Fillion in a kilt on Craig just after I'd thought I'd missed it
2. Keep seeing commercials on BBCA for new Torchwood in July. WHOOHOO!
3. I didn't get fired today
4. My boss totally okayed my idea about bringing in a trash can for cardboard recycling at work
5. Got a bit more written for LMOM- coming up on the fun bits now
6. Found out today that this week is National Postcard Week. Also found out that new Wolverine episodes will be returning May 22. Awesomeness.
7. Caught a bit of Top Gear with Roger Daltry making an appearance
8. Getting to bed before 2am for a change (to make up for waking up half an hour earlier than usual so I can buy trash can for #4)
I'm tagging... everyone! Acknowledge your happy-making!

Date: 2009-05-08 05:35 pm (UTC)There is *still* no official announcement, but there is a formal preview showing by The British Film Institute in London on Friday 12th June.
Also, seeing as several major BBC1 shows wrap up their runs the week before, and Wimbeledon starts June 22, then June 15th really is the only clear week available on BBC1.
Gareth has also recently mentioned mid-June as the general start date. 5 weeks to go! Yay!

Date: 2009-05-08 06:34 pm (UTC)Definitely good to know. The BBC America commercial still says July (which I tend to believe over internet speculation since they ought to know when they're airing their own show if they get as far as advertising it) but I certainly wouldn't complain if it started earlier, in June.

Date: 2009-05-08 07:37 pm (UTC)Bad move, BBC America. Now I officially have no reason to watch it on their network. I was going to download the UK versions anyway, since I don't trust BBC America not to edit them like they do every other ep of Torchwood they've aired so far. But this guarantees it.

Date: 2009-05-11 01:15 pm (UTC)Yeah. I took the morning off because I felt sick and around noon I got a call from a coworker. He had inadvertently deleted records in one of our most important, irreplaceable databases. I tried to get to our server from my home laptop but the application wasn't working. So I raced back to work. The problem is, it was Thursday and that's when I do a manual backup of databases! So if it had happened on a Friday, no worries. But this was a Thursday morning and last Thursday I hadn't backed them up which was my fault since I had taken that afternoon off. And I should have known he would mess it up (it isn't the first time something like this has happened with him) so before letting him use the database I should have backed it up or made a copy and let him use the copy instead of the original. But, stupid me, I didn't. So it was my fault essentially if we lost the whole database. LUCKILY, I'd set up automatic backup (I couldn't remember if I'd done that when I set up the new server. I thought I might have, but I wasn't sure) so it had backed up Thursday morning at 1am. So we didn't lose anything and I didn't lose my job. But I was really very scared for a while there. And since then I've been backing everything up constantly. LOL

Between these and the new audiobook I have on order, and the books coming out at the end of the month, and the convention coming up in June with Jack, Ianto, Rhys, and PC Andy, I guess I really don't have much right to complain about the wait for the show itself...
