I asked for questions/topics and
smokeycat_430 asked how my pets are doing. Thank you for the question! I just finished watching the most recent episode of Rescue Ink: Unleashed (my new favorite show) and after seeing some of those animals, I feel very lucky to have animals who haven't known such awful situations.
My Maxwell Demon Kitty- He's curled up, sleeping on my bed right now. He's doing all right; a few not-so-great things recently though. For the past month or so, he's had a bunch of little scabs all over his head and neck. He is the second-to-bottom kitty on the totem pole in the house and sometimes the females will swipe at him, but usually they don't make contact, so I don't think he's being beat up. He plays rough with Benji almost every day. Max does his patented arm-around-Benji's-neck move and Benji is resilient and keeps batting at Max. Max bats back. You know how cats play. And as the little scabs aren't anywhere else on Max's body, I don't think it's some allergic reaction or anything. He doesn't scratch at them or seem bothered by them. It's just rough kitty play, I think. But his annual appointment is coming up in December so if it persists until then, I'll ask. He's also kind of addicted to Temptation treats. He gets really anxious about them. I give him one every night but starting around 8 or 9 he bugs me for one constantly, even after I give him one. The anxiousness worries me but we use the treats to entice the kitties to take medicine so we can't get rid of them completely (I started giving them to Max when his feet were bleeding a year or two ago and I had to give him medicine; then he became addicted and I became an enabler). But apart from those two things, he's great and happy :-)
Angel- my sister's cat, has been sleeping on my couch or on top of my laundry in the laundry room every day for the past few weeks. My room is usually Max's domain, but it's nice when Angel shows me some love for a change :-) Max doesn't mind because she doesn't sleep in any of his places and it's still his room.
Benji- still limping and trying to jump down from the table when he shouldn't (all we need is for him to shatter his foot/leg yet again). But we've eliminated most every high place where he could jump down from. And his diabetes is still in remission, so he's doing great. He's such a character: running to greet anyone who comes in the door, nuzzling and smelling our breath, hanging out on the stairs and grabbing our feet when we try to get past him because he wants more attention. You can't not love the Benji-boo-boo kitty.
Butterscotch- He still has a little scar on his eye from the surgery and every so often he'll jump because he won't see something properly and then you move into his line of sight and he is surprised. But that's rare and he's still the same Butterscotch- totally submissive, completely quiet, but incredibly lovable. Whenever I'm sitting on the couch upstairs, he'll run over, sit next to me, and let me pet him for as long as I want. He loves his cheek rubs. Oohhhhhh yes he does.
Sugar- she had another episode last night, but it was minor and she's fine today. She doesn't like the anti-hairball stuff we give her every other day (even though she gets a treat afterwards) but she hasn't had any more bad episodes since we started her on all the new meds and the new diet *touch wood* so no emergency pet hospital trips for... what... half a year now? More? That's excellent. She's the only cat in the house allowed dry food (because the dry food has some hairball control formula in it and the hairballs bring on her heart condition and make her foam at the mouth and sit there comatose). She gets a little demanding when she doesn't have her food, so she pushes her dishes (both moist food plate and dry food bowl) off the counter. We've lost two plates in the past 2 weeks. It's almost enough to make us by plastic bowls, but plastics are really bad for animals (chemicals) and it's not like we feed the animals off of our fine china :-)
Simon- he's fine. He loves the cold and the fall (he loves burrowing into leaf piles and coming up with leaves stuck to his face). Usually when we play, he gets tired after about 15 minutes, but the other night he kept going for about an hour. He was ready to drop dead afterwards, but every time I left the room, he'd come running after me so I could chase him again or play rope or something LOL I was about ready to drop dead, too LOL

Date: 2009-10-22 03:38 am (UTC)You're right-- Maxwell & Benji. Yeah, the flash caught their eyes wrong. Evil indeed, but too cute to resist. I think you're right; their plan to take over is definitely working already!!! LOL
