In honor of the Monty Python amazingness in the news I feel I really should get off my arse and buy that Knights Who Say Ni shirt at Think Geek I've had my eye on. Of course, there are another two shirts there I also want to get... and I'm so addicted to shirt woot that I don't need ANY more new shirts!

Is anyone watching Stargate Universe? I watched the first half of episode 1 last night. So far, I like it. But I still haven't finished SG-1 and I haven't finished Atlantis either. So the last thing I need is to start a third Stargate series. LOL But it's so tempting when my DVR records them and fills up the space and I can't delete them until I watch them.

Maxwellian is sitting in front of my monitor.

Oh. How about Eastwick? Anyone else watching that? I don't think it's that good but I can't look away!

This is a BUSY week.
Sunday- Maryland Renaissance Festival
Monday after work- Volunteered at the library
Tuesday after work- attended my first Friends of the Library meeting at the library where I volunteer on Saturdays. It was quite illuminating (I'll post about it on my book blog).
Wednesday after work- Writers' Roundtable meeting
Thursday after work- Seeing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at the discount theater with friends/meetup people
Friday after work- Going to see Melissa Anelli (Harry a History author) speak (I already had her sign my copy of the book)
Saturday- volunteering in the morning, carving pumpkin & making phone calls to Maine about Prop 1 in the afternoon, then annual DADA Halloween Party in the evening

Last year I carved a Marauders pumpkin that I thought turned out pretty well. I'm going to submit it to the Leaky Cauldron's contest. This year I'm adapting a dragon template into a Gryffin to make a Gryffindor pumpkin. And I thought it would be fun to match my pumpkin! So I'm going as Hermione from Prisoner of Azkaban. I've got my costume all worked out. Because my evenings are all booked up, I had to rely on my lunch breaks at work to shop. We only get 30 minutes and a few of my trips were closer to an hour. But I will make it up tomorrow as I don't have to get to the movie until just before 7 and the theater is 3 minutes from where I work. Friday during lunch, I'll be buying my pumpkin. I'll definitely post photos if the Gryffinpumpkin turns out all right!

I really wanted to try a Bellatrix costume this year. But I didn't come up with the idea until this week and there wasn't time to order a wig and gloves. I did buy a necklace I can use and some make-up. And a dress I bought a few months ago is PERFECT. I'm sad I won't get to do it this year, but maybe next year. I plan on doing a different house pumpkin each year. Oh, also, I have a trio of Harry Potter coloring books that have traveled around the country. I'm going to bring those to the DADA party and have people color some of the uncolored pages. But before that, I'm scanning in all the colored pages (I've scanned in about 35 pages so far) so I can show them off online and preserve them digitally forever.

Now we move on to NaNoWriMo. *sigh* I was so excited about doing my series of urban faerie stories this year. The fae have been waiting a year for me to write them and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity. But there's this new story that I wrote the first chapter to already that is hounding me to get out. And it has a lot of potential. I workshopped the first chapter and got a lot of feedback about it. Basically, everyone loved it but want me to re-write it completely differently. LOL And I shared the first two paragraphs in a workshop at the Muse Online Writers Conference last week and the workshop leader didn't really like them. She suggested I switch the first two paragraphs. Which... yeah. So if it's going to be re-written from scratch anyway and I'm really excited about writing it... why not do it for NaNo? But the problem is, I haven't worked out all the details in my head yet. But, then again, I haven't worked out the details of the fae series either. But with the faeries, I was thinking about how neat it would be to kick off the series by going to FaerieCon at the beginning of the month. I thought that would inspire me, like it did last year. But... ugh! I don't know. I LOVE my new story. Hey, would people mind giving me feedback on the first chapter? Seems I could use it. Actually, I could use help deciding. Maybe a poll. Yes.............. *rubs hands together excitedly*
