tarotgalUnless I completely chicken out today, overnight, or tomorrow morning, I am planning to participate in the 2010 No Pants Metro Ride here in DC. I've been wanting to do one of these "improv" things since I found out about them last year, and this one works for me as far as time & place. I'm mostly doing it because I have a character in last November's NaNoWriMo story who is ALL about these sorts of things. So I want to actually experience one of them first hand. I have some underwear I'm happy wearing. But I might drive by Walmart or Target this afternoon just to see if anything better catches my eye. There are something like 2,300 people signed up on the Facebook page for it tomorrow, so it'll be less of a clever improv and more of a stupid-looking mob if everyone actually shows and it isn't coordinated well. We'll see what happens! If nothing else, I get an hour or two of reading done on the Metro.
It snowed here a little bit yesterday, which was nice. I got to sleep in an extra hour because the university had a delayed opening. Snow is so pretty! *pets pretty snow*
I watched the Wrestler last night. What a well-made, highly depressing movie. Is it a bad sign that I see a lot of myself in his patheticness?
Speaking of which, there's a new Porn Battle round going on over at Insane Journal. I had hoped to write a bunch of pieces for it last night, but I only managed one and a half. Boo hiss.
I'm still finalizing my 2010 New Year's Resolutions. I'm not happy with the list yet, but getting close.
Also, I have to take my car in for servicing (it says it needs an oil change, which is fine, and also a 1 year check, which is more expensive). Ugh. What a pain in the arse. I was thinking about doing it today... but I didn't make an appointment and I'm feeling lazy after volunteering all morning and running errands in a few minutes. So... yeah. Maybe after work some day this week... well, not Monday because I'm volunteering again or Tuesday because that's book club day. Technically I SHOULD be at a LEGO meeting now but I'm really shy and a lurker and I'm working up my courage still.
Oh, the Oceanic Six's album is out next week. Yay! I preordered it ages back, because I am a weak, weak fangirl. Also, I have a feeling that Alex & the MOM boys know they are WAY too cute for their own good and take advantage of us. Obviously I don't mind too much, though, because I was aware of the fact and still bought it. LOL
I know I sound like I'm rambling, which I am. There was something big I meant to say here... but I cannot remember what it is. I was hoping that by this point in the post I would have it, but I don't. Bah. Oh well. Must not have been that important.
