I had a pretty good week/weekend, all things considered.

On Saturday I volunteered and then met up with BookCrossers in DC. We had a fun meeting, which included 1 member I haven't seen since my very first meeting years ago, and another brand new member. Then four of us went snarfing afterward and I passed 1,000 snarfs. It's a huge, exciting achievement I'm very proud of. And I'm looking forward to my next 1,000! Saturday was a lot of fun, and when I got home I was a little depressed so I put in the 10th Kingdom and finished it up on Sunday. Huff puff! I'm still just as in love with it as I was since I first saw it. And, of course, no trip to the 10th Kingdom would be complete without watching the This Kiss music video (contains spoilers!!!).

Am starting to really get annoyed by Blockbuster Online. They're taking a day and a half to two days to process and send out DVDs instead of 1 day like they used to. It's throwing my whole timetable/schedule off. LOL And speaking of stuff not arriving, the latest Torchwood issue never made it to me. Lots of our mail seems to have been lost during the giganto snow storm, so I'm kind of pissed about that.

The Snape discussion the local meetup group had on Tuesday was IMO the best discussion our group has ever had. I had to handle a lot of Marauder insulting (you know they're my favorite, but I'm going to have to skip that discussion when we get to them because I'm just a Hufflepuff and I'm not good at holding my own in debates and I can't stand listening to so many people insulting my favorite characters. I'm not saying the boys are angels... but one of the reasons I like them so much is because they're realistic and flawed. Boys that age CAN be jerks who don't think things through.) Anyhoo, it was a good meetup. Oh! And I got to see my friend's Tauntaun sleeping bag! She wrapped me up in it. It's so warm and soft and canon. heehee Between all the stuff I do, I didn't get home before 8:30 Monday-Thursday last week (some days infinitely later)

I missed the Help Haiti Heal event on Saturday but it's replaying over and over again at http://www.thehpalliance.org/haiti/ Now if I could just decide on what to donate for! There are a few things I would *die* to have so I can't decide whether to try my luck on a lot of things or increase my chances at winning by buying several "tickets" for one item I desperately want. Either way, I'm donating a lot of money and won't feel bad if I don't win. As for the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti LJ auction, I think that went really well. I got a fantastic ficlet written for me with my current favorite pairing (Charlie/Neville at the Dragon Preserve) which I'll be pimping once it's posted because I love it. I got two Torchwood books I didn't already have, and I bought some Lord of the Rings buttons. More importantly, [livejournal.com profile] brigidmn won the item I was offering, and I'm finishing up reading one book so I can send them all out ASAP. It was fun to both bid and offer. And it's really fantastic to see how much money fandom is raising for Haiti. I watched the telethon on Friday as well (Ewan was there!) and only made it 3 minutes into the program before crying.

And speaking of donations, John Green and his wife had their first baby! The littlest nerdfighter is named Henry, and more than anything else he wants a world without malaria :-) So I'll be donating some money to that campaign as well, not just because it's a really nice thing for a baby to want but because my sister almost died of it twice (a rare second strain that freaked all the doctors out).

Also, one porn battle ended (I wrote 5 "first time" type fics for it) and another porn battle just began. As if I NEED more things to write? LOL That Julia/Ace Strokes story has been floating around in my head, formalizing itself for a week as well. I'm excited about that. And I'm still working on the Firefly penalty drabble. It's not coming out quite the way I'd intended, but it's not too bad.

Yesterday I was miserable. Stomach trouble combined with it being my time of the month; I was feeling pains I have never felt before. This morning I fully intended to go to work, until I doubled over again. So I'm taking a day off today. I got very little done yesterday, and I just don't fancy sitting at my desk at work feeling awful silently and not getting anything done when I could be here at home with a heating pad getting nothing done, you know?

I was depressed after the meetup too. I wonder why that was?

Hope you're feeling better soon. Heating pads are awesome. We don't have one, but my cat usually is more than happy to fill in. :)

I totally left blockbuster for netflix. (Yesterday) It took them 2 weeks for them to send me 2 DVDs (3 separate times). At netflix, I pay $9 (rather than $17), for one main-in movie rental. But can play as many as I'd like on my laptop. (Rather than 2 movies in the mail and 5 instore trades.)

Just my two cents
