Productive Monday!
Feb. 15th, 2010 11:58 pmI had an extremely productive Monday! This is partly due to the fact that I didn't have to volunteer tonight (library was closed on President's Day) and I left work an hour early because it was snowing and our parking lot was HELL. Even my 4WD slipped a few times on the slush-covered ice when trying to get out. Our lot is awful but, luckily, the Icy Hill of Death was not too bad. So here's what I got done:
1. I went to my storage unit and got out the extra top shelf I bought for one of my bookcases (Mom measured wrong and it doesn't fit on top because my ceiling is too low). I cleaned off my television unit completely and put the shelf on top (after putting felt on the bottom). I put my stereo on top of the shelf and squeezed around the furniture to plug it in finally (I'm hoping I will listen to the hundreds of audio books I still have on tape on it). I organized and arranged my DVDs neatly on the TV unit as well. It looks awesome good and now I can actually get to/see all my DVDs.
2. I went to Walmart and bought a bunch of yarn so I can start making stuff for the HPA's Magical Acts of Warmth campaign. I also bought a 4-pack of gloves to donate. I can't wait to try a real scarf. Hope it doesn't suck too much.
3. I also bought 4 picture frames (I'm going back to buy another tomorrow) for some of the art I bought at FaerieCon. I came home and sorted, arranged, cut (ack!) to size, and framed the pieces! They turned out really nicely (which is why I'm going back to buy another 3-photo display tomorrow). Photo: http://twitpic.com/13hlf8 The artist saw my tweet and picture and re-posted it. *beams with pride*
4. I created a webpage for the HPA book drive I'm doing in March. I'm rather terrified that no one will show up to the interest meeting this Sunday. Eeek. But I have high hopes for the book drive. I also created and printed out (in all 4 house colors) bookmarks with all the dates for the upcoming HPA meetings & donation drop-offs.
5. I did 2 loads of laundry (much-needed loads full of sweatshirts so I can dress in layers and stay warm in the snow!)
6. I set up my wand display stand with all three wands I now own (my own, special Willow wand, which is now flanked by Sirius Black's wand and Remus Lupin's wand). These now reside on top of my TV unit as well. Now I can actually look at them all the time.
7. I took it easy and ate dinner, started a new super krazy kakuro puzzle, watched a bunch of Olympics coverage (OMG the Canadian Women's Hockey team is either in-fucking-credible or every other women's hockey team sucks worse than me, I don't know which), watched a bunch of TV, relaxed.
Still need to do:
E-mail librarian with attendance count
E-mail reminder to Writers' Roundtable group
Generate weekly plot bunny
And, if there's still time, I want to start knitting.
