tarotgal: (Beauty & the Beast- Snow)

Aaaaand this is why it's a good thing I still live with my parents. I was nearly out the door (door open, screen door almost open) when my mother appeared at the top of the stairs and said "You do know GMU is closed, right?" There's a light dusting of snow outside but it's covered in ice. Apparently that was enough for a closure. I'm amazed and surprised but it means now I get back into PJs, back into bed, for an unexpected and welcome nap (after not falling asleep until 3 am last night). Whee! This is great. First snow day of the year! And that means... snow drabble later today! :-)

I had yesterday off for MLK JR Day. I was going to spend the day relaxing and doing nothing of any deep thought. But I ended up reorganizing my section of our storage room, labelling boxes, registering & sorting books. This should have come as no surprise to me considering I spent all day Saturday & Sunday helping the two other members of our BookCrossing Convention committee process about 1000 books for upcoming festivals & the convention. We were supposed to go into DC on Sunday, but the other two were too tired, so we just continued registering & releasing books instead. Even after I got home that night, I registered book buffet books and made release notes on them. I was definitely in the groove. So it's no wonder yesterday I did more of the same. Though I did sleep until 1:30 and did stay in bed until 3 reading. And now I have sections of my storeroom just for the convention, for the Kensington book festival in April, and for Accio Books in March (Harry Potter Alliance book drive). I'm reeeeeeally proud of myself for the work I did on that yesterday. It's all organized and pretty and easy to get to whatever I need.

Has anyone ever watched that Storage Wars show? It's amazing. The people in it are horrible, but A&E ran a marathon on Sunday night and I stayed up until 4am watching it. I couldn't look away. Maybe it's because I have a storage unit, so I'm kind of fascinated by the idea of people bidding on these things. Or maybe I am amazed that people earn their living by buying people's units that have been put up for auction. Or maybe it's the mystery of "what's going to be in this unit"? I don't know. But it's crazy and the sort of train wreck I couldn't look away from no matter how hard I tried. I was, like, glued to the TV for 5 hours straight watching all these episodes. LOL

All righty. Going back to bed now. Mmmm. Sleep. I love sleep.
