Max definitely didn't have a good reaction to his surgery & the antibiotics. It took him a few days to start eating and then the meds made his stomach upset. I took him back in on Wednesday and they gave him fluids to hydrate him and took him off the meds. Today I took him back to the vet for more fluids and we have one more trip there tomorrow as well. He's already much more alert and not refusing food. I'll have to take him back in again in a few weeks so they can check to make sure he's all right, given the Kidney disease and the fact that he's been drinking water more than usual this week. I feel like a parent, having to take so much time off to take my baby to the doctor. Thank goodness I still have lots of comp leave to use up this month because of the conference.

A few days ago I finished earreading Uglies. I really liked it and want desperately to read the next book... but I put The Girl Who Played With Fire on hold at the library months and months ago. I was 200-something on the list and it just came to me last week, so I have to earread it and pass it on because there are many people on the list after me.

Tomorrow night is a conference call for the Harry Potter Alliance's next big campaign: Accio Books (the book drive for charity). Because my chapter won the chapter cup last year, I'm one of their featured speakers on the call. I'm nervous and hope I have enough "secrets to success" to share with the other chapter organizers tuning in.

Saturday will be our Accio Books interest meeting. And then on Sunday I head back to DC to work on BookCrossing Convention stuff all day.
