Watching Stargate tonight
Jun. 2nd, 2003 11:08 pmI watched Stargate again tonight- on Sci Fi :-)
I caught the last season 2 episode that I had not seen (YAY!) so I'm done with season 2, just have 3 more season 3's to watch, and I'm halfway through season 4. Anyway, tonight they also showed 'One False Step' which is one of my favorites... gee, I wonder why? :-) Daniel's sneezing is too adorable- I love all the little sniffles and moves like wiping his hand on his pants that Michael puts into it- certainly a nice, realistic experience for me! *G*
During the first commercial break (damnit, I paused the VCR through it!) there was a Clarinex commercial where a guy (I think, it was so fast!) sneezes. I think there may have been another sneeze, but at any rate, I found the timing to be ironic. I'll have to look out for it again. Cuteness...
During the second commercial break during that episode, there was a commercial for AOL about virus protection where they had harddrives and laptops sneezing and coughing. The first sneeze sounds delightful!!! Of course, I'd paused the tape during that break as well and didn't catch it either. DOH!
Anyway, just thought I'd throw those out in the air. Certainly made my experience of enjoying an episode for the sneezing much more enjoyable for the commercials to contain it as well. Wonder if they did that on purpose? *G*
I'm thinking of taping the new season when it starts, since I'm not caught up enough to watch it. I'm planning on getting to season 5 next week... but who knows. Can only hope Michael's return will mean good things for the SG :-) I love this show! *sneaks off to watch Window of Opportunity a third time*

Date: 2003-06-03 06:54 am (UTC)On an ironiC note, from someone who has never had allergies before, well, I guess you really can develop them at any time. I now seem to have some sort of spring allergy. I don't know to what, probably tree pollen. Mornings are quite interesting these days
Re:
Date: 2003-06-05 02:20 pm (UTC)I don't know, I've had allergies since middle school and the only thing I can say is that everyone experiences them differently. For me, it's more sore throat and itchy eyes and congestion/sinus pressure than actually sneezing. WHich is a shame. When I do sneeze from seasonal allergies, it's in doubles... spread about 5 minutes apart minimum. Now, if I'm having an attack to, say, dust, it's singles about 20 seconds apart- the sort of allergy attack one might like to imagine.
But you're right. Any product could help stop a single sneeze... it would be much more impressive for them to show how their product stops a full-out allergy attack with non-stop sneezing *G*
Ohhh... sorry about the newly-developed allergy thing... hope it's not too bad for you. Morning are always the worst for me.

It's too bad Michael Shanks hates anything that makes Daniel seem too stereotypically geeky...the sneezes stopped altogether after season 2, sadly. He probably won't wear the glasses much anymore either, but I really thought they made his character endearing.

Date: 2003-06-05 02:11 pm (UTC)As for the stereotypical geekiness... there's SO much to Daniel's character that ISN'T stereotypical... I don't know why they don't see that the geek can still be a part of it without being stereotypical. I dunno... just my two cents... I rewatched 'Needs' the other day (I needed a good hurt/comfort fix) and he just wasn't Daniel when he got rid of the glasses.
