As I sit here, staring at my Netflix queue, just WILLING the 4th DVD of the first season of Supernatural to get here, I realized I had a problem. A "oh just BUY IT ALREADY and quit your wining!" kind of problem.

Seasons 1-6 on DVD for $78? I'm not going to regret this later, am I? I don't think I've ever purchased an entire season to-date before I saw most of it. And I'm sure I would have regretted it if I'd purchased Farscape (it had its moments, but by the end I wasn't at all in love with it any more and just watching to find out how it ended for the characters). Any chance I'm going to fall out of love with the Winchester boys or not fall for Castiel when I finally meet him?

I watched seasons 1-4 in the summer before S5 came out, and it was great. I'm not saying I adored every episode, but the episodes I've only watched once are outnumbered by the ones I watch over and over again.

I had seasons 2-4 gifted to me before I had even finished season 1, and I couldn't watch them fast enough! Seasons 1-3 remain my favorite, though season 4 is exceptionally well-written, even if it rips your heart out. Later seasons are more rocky, though still with amazing gems of episodes sprinkled throughout.

I can't speak for Castiel though. He has his moments, but personally, I can take or leave him, and there are many other guest characters I like more than him. Then again, SPN is the first fandom in a long time where I've vastly preferred gen-fic over slash/shippy fic. But there's so very much fic out there that it's easy to stay in one's own preferred reading circles.

I watched the first five seasons back to back last winter and loved every minute of it. Season Four is a personal favourite, but as Lady Korana says, there's more than enough angst to go around. I loved Cas in earlier seasons, but liked him less as time wore on; though it hasn't dimmed my enjoyment of a well written Dean/Cas story.
