I almost started crying in the waiting room at my allergist's today while reading the end of the Amsterdam scene. And I DID cry a little on my way home from the allergist's when Kris Allen's "Live Like We're Dying" song came on the radio. And I knew this book was going to make me cry. But I was unprepared for the whole range of emotions. I shouldn't have been; it's John Green. His humor and his characters are phenomenal.
I just finished TFIOS. I can't write a review yet, because I have ALL THE EMOTIONS!!!!11!!1!!! But I'm amazed at how I can cry through a scene so hard I can barely read the words and then, suddenly, be laughing my arse off through the tears. I didn't think such a thing was possible, physically, but it is. What an amazing piece of work. One day I hope to write something even a fraction as good. Looking for Alaska's still my favorite of his, though ;-)
