Well, I submitted my offer on the house and it was accepted! Actually, someone else had offered more (I offered the asking price but asked for closing costs), but I'd written a really nice note to the buyer telling her I work for a non-profit and I'm looking for my very first home for me and my cat and it was PERFECT and she liked my letter so much they accepted my offer even though it was less! So YAY for writing! See, it does come in handy IRL :-)

Home inspection on Thursday. ZOMG this is so rushed because I'm leaving for the UK on Monday. GAH! Why does everything have to happen at the same time? So crazy. LOL

So it's not official yet and I don't close until May, so plenty could still go wrong. I have to sign the counter offer and get the inspection and radon test and get the loan and call the title company and GAH! There is so much! All at once. But I'm SO HAPPY! A house of my very own! I'll be a homeowner! *happy dance*

Also, I just found out today that my baby sister's probably getting engaged. Today has been a CRAZY emotional day!

Today was a crazy day for me too because I bought a new toaster, all silver and shinny and with lots of buttons and stuff...

Congrats! I built my house, not bought it, so I didn't have to go through the whole offer process, but I can imagine it must be nerve-wracking when you have an emotional stake in the outcome.
