tarotgalI got up this morning and then went back to sleep. Then I got up at 10am, posted two swaps, and then said "screw this!" and went back to sleep. It's nearly 1 and I'm finally awake and feeling rested. Mmm. I love sleep. I'd do it all day if I didn't have things to do.
Last night I went to Wolf Trap, which is an outdoor music venue in Northern Virginia. The National Symphony Orchestra performed John Williams' music. It was amazing. Everything from several Olympic themes to Jurassic Park (I teared up; I played that in band, years ago) to Memoirs of a Geisha to Harry Potter (I was there with my Harry Potter group) to Star Wars (they had some of the people from the 501st there along with the local Jedi group and even Darth Vader, who got to kick the conductor off and conduct his own theme--that was pretty damn awesome). And lying on my back, staring up at the stars when they played the Hymn for the Fallen from Saving Private Ryan was as close to a religious experience as I have felt in a long while. The heat was a bastard (above 100 degrees with a heat index of 111 degrees). I don't do heat well, but I survived. I had several bottles of ice that I pretty much hugged during the whole show. LOL The only bad part (apart from getting dehydrated and sweating SO much) was that there was a Carpe Geekdom concert at the same time in Northern Virginia. I miss Snidget so much since she moved to New York; plus that crew owes me two songs I paid them $120 for! :-) But oh well. Wolf Trap was totally worth it.
Today I need to get my butt in gear and work out my schedule for the next two months. I decided last night that I'm going to Can't Stop the Serenity this year, despite having plans that day already, because it's such a fun event and for charity and a friend is going. You can't stop the signal OR a fangirl, apparently. But Accio Books is going to start running again, so I need to figure out when to plan the meetups for that.
Also, Home Depot called and my floor for the new house is in. So I need to go pick that up. We'll be painting the library before we start installing it, but I'm excited to GET it, as I dropped a chunk of change for it already and it's gonna look awesome in the library. Heck, my whole house is going to look awesome. The lavender walls of my craft room look magnificent. And I'm painting the craft room door blue. And painting on windows. And certain letters at the top. Uh, yeah. My house is going to be me.
