TV Shows on Netflix?

I just finished watching Alphas on Netflix. I liked it a lot. Also, seeing Peter Wingfield again is never a bad thing *G*

I just RSVPed yes to a local geek meetup group's discussion in October. They discuss a different TV show every month. October is... Supernatural! So we were assigned 10 S1 episodes to watch as "homework". Actually a pretty good choice of episodes. I finished watching them tonight.

And I'm in the mood to start watching another show on Netflix. I finished SeaQuest DSV last month or so. And I've seen a lot of newer series. Ones I really want to see aren't on Netflix streaming. So I need a recommendation for a show that IS on Netflix streaming. Something good you think I'd like.

I just got Netflix back after my father cancelled it last November so I have been looking for things to watch as well and noticed a few of my favorite shows are on it. One of them is a show that was on NBC about 3 years ago called Life. It is a detective show with Damian Lewis (see my icon) whom I adored from Band of Brothers (and he's now in Homeland which I can't watch because I don't have Showtime...). It also has Adam Arkin and Sarah Shahi which is cool. I really liked the show and was surprised it lasted for 2 seasons since I don't think many people watched it.

My other show that I love that is on Netflix is Rescue Me with Denis Leary about NYC firefighters dealing with their issues after 9/11. It is a good mixture of drama and comedy and has great guests stars like Michael J. Fox and Marissa Tomei. And had Dean Winters who is now the "Mayhem" guy in the Allstate commercials!

So those would be my picks for something new to watch.

I can't watch Rescue Me because it's about firefighters, and I'm terrified of fires (same reason I'll never see Backdraft, for example--I had nightmares for weeks after going on the Universal Studios Backdraft "ride").

I vaguely recall Life, but I didn't know much about it--I certainly didn't know it was a detective show. Thanks so much for the recommendation!
