A curtain!fic type thing. The boys are retired and Sam's still pretty messed up from the cage and, I don't know, won't go outside and freaks out at being touched and that kind of thing. So Dean gets him a cat, who also won't venture outdoors and gets scared really easily, and that seems to help a lot. The only problem is that Dean is really allergic, and the cat is ALWAYS in the house and trying to sit on him and sleep on his bed... But Dean puts up with it because it makes Sam happy.

The illness doesn't really hit him full force until they're heading out after it's all over. At which point, every time Sam sneezes, glitter goes flying everywhere!

Dean doesn't just live to take care of Sammy -he gets off on it. Especially when Sam's sick or injured and the need is there in Sam's eyes and Dean is SO good at making it better. And maybe he has a thing for sniffly sneezy Sam too, shut up! ;) Sam likes being independent most of the time. But he can't deny that he enjoys the comfort of Dean's presence, especially when he's feeling vulnerable. Queue Sam coming down with a miserable head-cold, and Dean *needing* to fuss and play nursemaid. And if Sam plays up his symptoms a little bit more for Dean's enjoyment, what of it? ;)

I met someone a few weeks back who is allergic to those wheat bags you use if you have like a back injury or a neck injury, to heat up the area and ease the pain and I immediately thought that that's an allergy that needs to be supernaturallified. Jared was actually (in real life!) super sick at the People's Choice Awards (according to him, "shivering and shaking, uh, with a fever"). I'd love to read something describing him muddling through all of the red carpet interviews, and having to present/accept the award(s) on stage all congested (seriously, listen to him, it's the cutest thing) and maybe Jensen or Genevieve (or both!) taking care of him. Jensen also ended up getting sick, too, not long after, if you want to do something with that too! I think they called it the "Supernatural Flu" at the convention in Las Vegas a few weeks ago.

Sam falls asleep in the Impala. Sick!Dean stifles all his sneezes because he doesn't want to wake Sam, BUT stifling only makes him sneeze more XD. So Dean stops at the side of the road so he can get out and let his sneezes out. And then... well, it turns out that he is in the middle of a field of some plants he's allergic to, so he's going to sneeze his head off whether gets back in the car or not. OH DEANO :O

Sam's always been pretty sensitive to laundry detergent, but a while ago they were able to find a brand that didn't make him sneeze so much. When they finally run out and go to buy more, they discover that it's all sold out! So they have to go into the detergent aisle (which already sets him off pretty badly) and experiment with different brands to see which one he reacts to the least. (Of course it's difficult because his nose is already sensitive from being surrounded by them and having to sniff a bunch of different ones... but it's the only way!)

Teenchesters: it's a small apartment and Sam & Dean share a bedroom. One of the boys sneezes a lot at night. Maybe he does a bit during the day as well, but his allergies are ten times worse at night (maybe some night-blooming something outside the bedroom window? or a neighbor's cat who likes to wander in during the day and use a certain pillow to snuggle up on?). The other lad is insanely frustrated and unable to get any sleep; he knows it isn't his brother's fault... but when you're a teenager, logic isn't always your best friend. Especially not at 3am when your brother wakes you up sneezing his head off for the fifth time that week and you can't complain to Dad about it.

Horatio strikes me as the sort of guy who denies he's sick and tries very hard to hide it. And it's canon that he worries about what his men think about him. So I'd like to see a fic where Captain Hornblower catches cold and tries his utmost to hide it from people, blaming his sneezes on everything from cold air to too much pepper. It's up to you whether or not he manages to hide it. Surprisingly, I'd like to limit the caretaking element. Either Horatio’s caught and sent to the doctor or he fools everyone and reflects on that dryly before going to bed.
