Stuff from me!
Apr. 6th, 2013 05:22 pmJust a recap of me stuff from late...
1. My weight got down to 148.6 this week. I'm so freakin proud of myself :-) 13.6 pounds until my target Of course, I was back up to 150 this morning, but that's typical for me. I was 148-149 a couple days in a row, though, meaning I was allowed to enter it on my weight chart on LiveStrong. Downward baby!
2. Easter weekend was a blast. I spent it at Antietam with four of my most favorite people in the world. We did BookCrossing, Markeroni, and just plain hung out. I'm itching to log all the historical markers we found. I fell while trying to get down a very steep hill after snarfing a table marker, but no actual injury apart from a scuffed palm (I was worried I'd twisted my ankle ot something, but I was lucky!). And I jogged to a number of markers and was only a little winded. I used to get winded walking from one room to another or up/down stairs! But here I was RUNNING! I haven't run/jogged since... I dunno... high school maybe? I was so astonished. I wasn't really even that tired at the end of the day!
3. AWP Conference in Boston was okay. Lots of logistic problems and twice as many onsite people registered as we'd anticipated. Kind of a PTSD situation by the end of the second day. When you're working for 11 hours straight without breaks to even get water from the bottle in your bag 15 feet away (we did manage a 20 minute bathroom and food break in the middle!) entering data and processing payments SO FAST that shaving a second off each time seems like a sigificant improvement... and you're doing it while the person in front of you is yelling or angrily complaining... it's kind of traumatizing. Working your ass off and being insulted as you do it for 11 hours? It was awful for everyone. But most of our attendees were really nice and understanding. We all needed blankets and hugs when it was over though.
4. I just finished my taxes! My mother came over and helped me with them. I get money back from the state for the first time in, like, 6 years! And I get lots of money back on the federal form! Yay for owning a house! Now I'll have money to fix my house so I can finally move in completely! :-)
5. I am working on the following pattern for the memes: write a Deanfic, write a Samfic, write a non-SPNfic, repeat. I'm on my second Samfic right now and I can already tell it's going to be LONG. I was writing it in my head all through the library volunteering shift this morning and it was GOOD! And a good thing, really, because there was a v-ing-related incident at the library and I had to hum to myself for about a minute to calm down and then I took my cart and sorted books as far away from things as possible. It was a reminder of why I could never work in a job like this fulltime. There was another similar incident at the library a few months back during flu season and I'm still not entirely over it. I had a lot of flashes to it today. But I'm feeling a little calmer now. I think the prospect of spending almost 2 (maybe 3!) days in my house and not having to leave is calm-making. I'm such a homebody at heart. Plus, I'm still in love with my house and I like spending time in it!
6. THANK YOU to everyone who has been participating in the memes! Post prompts! Post fills! Post comments! Have fun! :-)
7. I'm slacking on SO MANY things I need to do... because writing these fanfics is more fun. And I kind of can't work up any guilt about that ;-) But I got my taxes done. So there's that. Yay! Now, back to poor Sammy...

Date: 2013-04-07 05:33 am (UTC)Also yay on getting your taxes done. I made so little that my state was able to give me my refund without me having to fill anything out because they kept track of it all. Started and need to finish my Federal, though.
Oh, and am right now watching the pilot of the X-Files again after many years.
