Time for food!
Jul. 21st, 2013 09:08 pmI've been building LEGO all day. I opted to watch the BBC Chronicles of Narnia series (one of the first things I bought when I got a DVD player). I can pretty much recite the whole thing along with it. I made it through the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, then Prince Caspian, then the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and I'm about 75% done with the Silver Chair. It's almost 9am and I've FINISHED all three things that I wanted to take to brickfair! Which means I can stop and have dinner!
Two of them are tall towers, so I'm nervous about transport. But I can split them into smaller, more delicate pieces. My dream was to make 7 Harry Potter story towers-one for each book. I'd listed out seven scenes in each book. And it's still a worthy goal. However, I'm starting to doubt I have enough pieces for them to all be made at the same time. And even if I did, it would depleat me of all my LEGO brick resources, including a number of very special bricks that I wouldn't be able to use to build anything else. I was going to make Durmstrang ship bookends and put them on my bookcase. But the first is three times as tall as any shelf on my bookcase. So I think I may just have to rethink that plan. Maybe I'll make all of them, one at a time. And then I'll make small versions of the books themselves for my bookshelves. I really like how the first one turned out, though.
At any rate, I finished all my LEGO projects and am feeling fantastic about that, heading into a busy week at work and a super busy weekend next weekend. Saturday is our annual Harry potter birthday party, so I've got to make a few hundred water balloons for quidditch practice. And then I'll have to leave the party a few hours earlier than usual in order to get home to take care of Max and then go to a goodbye party for a coworker at a house about 40 minutes away. So it's going to be a long day.
