I listened to the 1 minute, 45 second excerpt from book 5 tonight (it's on Amazon.com, among other places). I have been trying like mad to avoid spoilers (haven't read the jackets, etc.) but I couldn't resist hearing Jim read it. WHOA. Sounds scary... I don't feel like it gave much away... btu did give me something to think about... and something to tide me over for the next week! EEEKKK! I'm SO excited :-) I swear, that weekend I'm going to do nothing but read :-)

Anyway... it's a good listen... kinda odd cuz it's out of context and makes reference to something scary that happened... but it's near the beginning of the book, I think. If you're at all eager for the book, I say give it a listen :-)

Yes, we are so excited here too that we just cannot stand it! My daughter and I reserved a copy at Barnes and Noble, where (here in Tucson) they are having a party and staying open until midnight, then passing out the new books! The kids are probably going to dress up (my son makes and awesome Harry Potter - he has been HP for the past 2 Halloweens) and even though I am paying for the book, she insists she is not putting it down - should I have gotten my own copy??? We will be reading and talking about this for so long! Where has Snape gone? Who will be on Fudge's side and who will be on Dumbledore's? Will the Death Eaters like L. Malfoy become brazenly open evil-doers again? Is Voldemort coming straight back again for Harry? Will Harry get with Cho Chang? (Well, that's my daughter's question!) The story is so close now and I can just picture all the characters waiting to come out again and show us who they have become. Enjoy your reading! We will certainly have some great conversations next Saturday night, won't we!!!
