Okay, I finally decided that I'm going to do another 12 fics in 12 days thing. But the fics will be shorter than normal--more like ficlets. Scenes instead of full stories.
Given this, if you want a gifty, you'll need to follow the instructions below and not expect brilliance or length :-) Also, if my health gets worse, I reserve the right to pull out or delay the project.
So what do you need to do?

It's got to be original character fic or a fandom I'm really familiar with. I can't do really obscure things that require research & extensive source material reviewing because I won't have time for that. I can't do elaborate situations either if I'm writing one for every day. So keep your requests short and sweet (but as specific as you want within that scope). Again, please don't expect brilliance from me :-)
If I reply and say I just can't write what you want and I need you to pick something else, you won't lose your "spot". But you should suggest something else within a reasonable period of time.

Any fandom I've written for before is technically fair game, but I can tell you right now I'm going to struggle to write another fic in a couple of those fandoms. And I can assure you that if you request something slashy in one of my major fandoms (or Strokes) I will LOVE you for making it easy on me. Feel free to ask if I know a particular fandom.
Clarification #1: Why 9 instead of 12? The first 3 spots go to the three people who were late last year and I said I'd try to write bonus giftfics for them... and then I never did. I feel guilty about that, so they get reserved spots if they want one this year.
Clarification #2: Because I've been asked this before, I'll answer it here before someone asks again: yes, lurkers are more than welcome to request (you can post with your name or anonymously; I don't mind).

Fandom: Horatio Hornblower (what else, right?)
Characters and/or Pairings: Horatio, primarily. If you think you can work in Pellew or Bush, that's fine.
Sneezing specifications (which character/characters you want sneezing, illness/allergies, etc.): Horatio sneezing, cold.
Rating/Range of Ratings: G-PG.
What DO you want to see (be as brief or detailed as you like): A "deleted scene" from THAT bit from Hornblower and the Atropos. That cold of his couldn't possibly have vanished that quickly. I'd particularly love to see him trying repeatedly to talk through the build-ups/sneezing mid-word, a la my fic "Supression".
What do you NOT want to see (squicks, pairings, etc.): Maria can be mentioned/appear if you want, but I don't want her to play a major role. I'd rather the story focus on Horatio coping with his cold in his position as captain/member of the Royal Navy. So I guess that means nothing really sexual in general.
You're awesome for doing this, even with everything going on in your life. I hope things improve for you!
(Oh, and if I wanted to, say, try to fill more of the moods in the Sneezefic 132 Mood challenge as a Christmas present, are there any moods you'd particularly like to see filled?)

What DO you want to see (be as brief or detailed as you like): Something on the theme of Home for Christmas with Dean and Sam (sick, of course) stopping in to see Bobby, or Bobby coming in to rescue them from a sleazy, nasty, germ-ridden motel and give them a real family Christmas like they've never had before. Someone being confined to their bed/the couch and because fevers make them faint, weapons being given as gifts, Sam flying his geek flag.
What do you NOT want to see (squicks, pairings, etc.): Meh. If you want to do wincest I'm fine with it, or anything else for that matter, I'm unsquickable.

Can do! I'll have to think a bit so it doesn't sound like other fics I've read with a few of these elements... or maybe the trick is to not think and just write!
As for a prompt from me, if you feel like it, I've read a number of "Sam's first Christmas at Stanford/away from home and he gets sick" fics. I'd love to see a reverse. Maybe Dean's super excited to have Sam home for Christmas break and Dean gets sick after/during a hunt. Then he finds out Sam's not coming home. Lots of angst, sniffles, and maybe a secret but heartwarming phone call? Would be kind of cute if he finds out Sam has a cold too and Dean goes all overprotective brother on him from afar, even though Dean's sick as well. Or maybe it's just Dean who's sick and Sam gets to fuss over him from afar and that's all the Christmas present Dean could want. Or maybe something else! Wherever the muses take you...

What DO you want to see (be as brief or detailed as you like): The Three Hunters out on a post-Quest trip (business or pleasure) during the winter. I'd love a warming-up-at-the-campsite scene, with some affection, teasing, and fussing over a very sniffly, sneezy elf. You know my tastes. :)
What do I not want to see? Nothing super kinky (scat, watersports, etc) though Gimli can get a bit handsy with his elf if he likes. No v-ing, obviously.
Feel free to completely override this if you see something Legolas related in the new movie that inspires you or demands fic, because chances are, I'd love to see it too. Can Legolas fall in the water chasing the dwarves please? ;)

It won't fit this prompt though. Chances are, I'll go with your prompt and if the movie inspires something different, I'll write that later! :-) I so wouldn't mind Legolas hiding in the river and helping Bilbo push the dwarves out in barrels and then catching cold just like Bilbo does. A girl can dream, eh?

It's probably the one place in all of LOTR that I have a vivid picture in my mind before seeing the film (garnered almost exclusively from fanfics, lol), and while what I've seen from the trailer doesn't match, it's still breathtaking. And I'm psyched to see what else we can add to mental canon based on what PJ presents us with.
If I can just survive the bits with the spiders to get there. *shudders*

This could be any age, although I'd prefer teen or adult. Cue Dean being a horrible sneezy mess and not really knowing why, and Sam either comforting him or making fun of him for it. Or both. :D

What DO you want to see (be as brief or detailed as you like): Okay, for some reason I want something where the characters are in the woods for some reason (maybe they were taking a hike to get a Christmas tree or they were on a mission or something) and get caught in the snow. Also, just because I saw one at the store the other day, the character that is sick is wearing a balaclava/ski mask to keep his face warm but it isn't working too well because of his predicament. And then there is cuddling to keep warm.

What DO you want to see (be as brief or detailed as you like): I'd love to see Sam intentionally using an allergy of Dean's (made up or canon, it's all good) to make him sneeze - either something kinky (like tied up and maybe using something scented or something, maybe telling him when to hold back or let it loose) or something sneaky, to get Dean to sneeze without him realizing what's going on (but maybe catching on after a while - nothing negative, all in good fun kind of stuff).

What do you NOT want to see (squicks, pairings, etc.): It's probably pretty clear I'm not looking for angst here, haha. Just lots of puppy cuddling and lots and lots of Sam sneezing.

Date: 2013-12-08 05:16 pm (UTC)I realized too that I'm in a time warp with my requests because I've been away from SF so long and everyone else has grown and evolved. I guess I need some new fandoms.
I'm thinking that I would love a Sirius/Remus fic.
My first thought is sick, sneezy and congested Sirius after POA. He seems so vulnerable, doesn't want to be a bother. Remus is his main caregiver, but maybe Harry first discovers he's ill and steps in until Remus arrives at Grimmauld Place. He first denies he's sick and fights the attention but then feels so sick he just gives in.
If that doesn't work maybe a younger post Hogwarts puppy fic with Sirius taking care of a sick Remus.
I'd also take an adultish Harry and Ron fic. Non slash just a friend taking care of his sick friend.
I know I'll love whatever you write. Remus and Sirius must be a couple(you convinced me of that), I'm all for kissing but nothing too graphic or splashy please.

Would you prefer the story take place in Grimmauld place pre-OotP or directly after POA? Does the time not matter so much as the situation? I I'm just trying to think about where to set it. Thanks!
I do have a Harry & Ron non-slashy fic I started for you eons ago I can fall back on, but I'd rather try something new for this gift and play around with the Harry & Ron one later.

I'll let Jack and my favorite elf/dwarf duo battle it out in my head and see which one wins. I haven't seen the new Thor movie yet and I'm 100% sure I wouldn't be able to write Loki well enough in my first ever attempt. What do you NOT want to see (squicks, pairings, etc.): For varying reasons, please do NOT write the following characters sneezing: Anderson, Mycroft, Mrs. Hudson. Also, I'm mildly e-phobic.
A prompt, if you want one:
Sherlock's usual ridiculousness has resulted in him catching an awful cold. John knows Sherlock basically brought his illness upon himself, but loves him enough to take care of him anyway. Bonus points if Sherlock honestly doesn't understand why a self-induced cold would normally command less sympathy than a regular, accidentally-caught one. (NOTE: Sherlock doesn't have to have purposely infected himself; he just has to have done something that would make it likely for him to get ill, such as not bothering with proper containment practices, or being unaware that cold viruses can be transmitted through objects, or whatever.)
