Happy #GivingTuesday!
Dec. 3rd, 2013 10:10 pmToday's my favorite of the "days." Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday... so what's Sunday? I've been taking suggestions all day for what Sunday should be. My favorite so far is "Sunday Sit" where you sit and relax, drink tea, and read a book. "Arts Sunday" was a close second favorite, where people create gifts instead of buy them.
I had a really good Thanksgiving break. I skipped dinner at my parents' place and went over afterward. We watched Public Access and laughed our asses off. Good times.
I got a lot written (won NaNoWriMo), got some crafts done and mailed out, cleaned my kitchen and living room, put up my tree, and worked on my blog.
Which y'all have probably noticed. I finally decided on a title and domain name. And I set it up to automatically post to my LJ. But it doesn't mirror to my Insane Journal. Sorry, those of you just following my IJ! But you can follow it here: http://thefangirlproject.com
I didn't go out for Black Tuesday. But I did buy one thing online that day, as it was for the Harry Potter Alliance and they have a Sirius Black Friday sale every year. I can't resist that. I bought two orders on Cyber Monday--one from ThinkGeek and the other from Whimsic Alley. I'm a fangirl, what can I say?
Today was a BAD day for me. I tried eating something a little more than white rice and applesauce last night. And I thought it was good. But I woke up in the middle of the night in so much pain. It didn't go away for 8 hours. So I skipped the first few hours of work and then went to work and sat hunched over at my desk crying for a few hours until the pain subsided. Gallbladder attacks are supposed to be 1-4 hours. So either this is something else or I'm just special. It hurts right where my gallbladder is, though, and the tests on my liver came back a-okay. So I'm thinking the ER was right all along about this. But I've got another nuclear medicine test on Friday (this time they just inject me). I'm hoping it'll tell me my gallbladder needs to come out pronto so I can get a good solution to this pain. All these tests coming back negative make me feel like I'm imagining it. But then times like this morning make me remember I'm definitely not.
So, yeah, today was a bad day. It's 10pm and I'm just now eating dinner (white rice! Whoohoo!).

Date: 2013-12-04 02:45 pm (UTC)After a CT scan, the ER docs said the problem was my gallbladder. After an endoscopy, my GI doesn't think that's the problem. But now she thinks it might be after all. I just want us to figure out what the problem is--whatever it is--so it can be solved.

Date: 2013-12-04 02:22 pm (UTC)When my grandmother had her gallbladder out many years ago, her hair turned pure white. It's gorgeous and I really hope my hair turns that color when I get old, but I expect it to turn the stick-straight, steel-wool gray of my other grandmother because fate is not kind.
Is Public Access a show or were you straight up watching public access television? Because that can be hilarious in its own right.

Date: 2013-12-04 02:43 pm (UTC)He was so mean to the callers in the last episode we watched that some would call up and just ask Mary for a reading and ignore him completely. LOL
And then there was a terrible show where a guy (I know about two dozen geeks just like him) was some horror buff and made a Jewish-friendly Thanksgiving dinner for one with a full chicken (head & feet and all) died black so it looked like a vulture chick. And he showed an old public domain instructional video from the '50s about how to properly carve meat while giving funny commentary about it the whole time ala Mystery Science Theater. So painfully bad we couldn't stop laughing. Good times.
And thanks. I accept your hugs & return them :-) Apart from a bad headache and worrying about all the stuff I need to do, I feel good today. I am planning to go to the party Sunday. I'll bring my own food. I'll be fine. It's close enough to home that I'll be okay if I need to head home early. I haven't wrapped my books yet, but I bought two at the library yesterday for that purpose.
