Urgent! One spot left!
Dec. 18th, 2013 09:50 pmThere's still one spot left in my 12 Ficlets in 12 Days project. Someone's got to take it, because it's spot #3 and I can't start making the graphics until I have all the days filled!

It's been an exhausting week for me. My weekend was timed down to the second and I mailed out a stack of packages almost as tall as I was! I did a lot of crafting and a lot of wrapping. I got to the post office 50 minutes early to beat the rush and was the first in line. I actually made it to work early because the post office employees decided to open 10 minutes early. I also gave them a present (wrapped boxes of different candies and a card made to look like an envelope).
Tuesday morning I went to drop off my Toys for Tots donation on the way to work and the woman at the drop-off site was a good friend of the family and my sister's Daisy troop leader! I hadn't seen her in maybe 17 years, but she recognized me right away LOL Then came a small birthday celebration for my part-timer at work, followed a few hours later by the office Christmas lunch (which required an hour of driving, round trip and at which I only had water and white rice LOL). I got my test results back... it's not the gallbladder. Which... I don't know if I believe the test, but it means a colonoscopy is next. Yay. My mother had one yesterday. I wish they'd had some sort of packaged deal. I had a good time during my library volunteering shift (even if there was a whole lot of purple converging in one place and time... my coworker actually has a theory that every time I wear purple, someone around me does also... so far, it's happening not just at work). Anyway, I was up until 1:30 am wrapping gifts for the Writers' Roundtable holiday party.
Had said party tonight. It went well, though pressed for time at the end. There were a few gifts that deserved more attention in their reveal, but next year I'll know to move it along more slowly from the beginning. And to maybe suggest a warning on any package containing flavored condoms. LOL It was a weird but fun time.
The Project for Awesome is wrapping up. I wish I'd had more time to play with it this year. But I commented on a few videos and I made a donation this morning for the $10 HPA Aparating Library membership card and a slight chance to win a signed JK Rowling book. I made the donation and it sent me a "Thank you for donating $100" email. WTF!!!! Apparently, it registered my $10 as $100 some how! So I FREAKED OUT. And it was 2am, so of course no support staff were on hand. I sent two panicked emails and tried to sleep. Then I woke up to a P4A staffer asking for my receipt info. Indiegogo reversed the charges this afternoon. It was done so smoothly and professionally, and I am GRATEFUL. I made my $10 donation and this time it stuck. I've donated a lot more than $10 in the past, but I'm in debt this year, so that's really all I could afford for the great causes. I did some voting and commenting, which raised maybe a quarter or two for charity. I wish I could have played more, but I have a job and too busy a life this week!
I'm so exhausted. I'm averaging 5 hours of sleep a night and ready to crash. I want to watch more SPN... but the next episode is a certain one in Season 5 with Ellen and Jo and I just can't be the one and only episode I watch because otherwise I'll go to bed crying.
Two more days of work in 2013. MAN I CAN'T WAIT! I'm going to give my part-timer a gingerbread house for Christmas. It's his first winter in this country and he's eager to learn traditions. Plus, he carved his first pumpkins this year and he seems pretty creative. So I think it'll be fun. And if it isn't, he can just eat it. LOL Win-win!
There's SO much I wanted to get done... and my main level literally looks like a hurricane hit a hoarder's house. There are ribbons and bows and packages and tissue paper EVERYWHERE. I really need to clean. But I also need to eat something. And I'm so sleepy, I'm scared of lying down on my couch in case I don't ever wake up again.

Date: 2013-12-19 04:20 am (UTC)Edited to conform to format.
Fandom (or OC): BBC!Sherlock
Characters and/or Pairings: Sherlock&John or Sherlock/John
Sneezing specifications (which character/characters you want sneezing, illness/allergies, etc.): Sherlock, preferably from a cold.
Rating/Range of Ratings: Any
What DO you want to see (be as brief or detailed as you like): Oblivious!Sherlock, patient!John (that is, full of patience, not a patient!), more fluff than angst.
What do you NOT want to see (squicks, pairings, etc.): For varying reasons, please do NOT write the following characters sneezing: Anderson, Mycroft, Mrs. Hudson. Also, I'm mildly e-phobic.
A prompt, if you want one:
Sherlock's usual ridiculousness has resulted in him catching an awful cold. John knows Sherlock basically brought his illness upon himself, but loves him enough to take care of him anyway. Bonus points if Sherlock honestly doesn't understand why a self-induced cold would normally command less sympathy than a regular, accidentally-caught one. (NOTE: Sherlock doesn't have to have purposely infected himself; he just has to have done something that would make it likely for him to get ill, such as not bothering with proper containment practices, or being unaware that cold viruses can be transmitted through objects, or whatever.)
