Miserable Christmas is Still Good
Dec. 26th, 2013 01:06 amI had one of my worst days health-wise on Christmas. Naturally. My stupid body sucks. It was... well, I just deleted all the details because you really don't need to read those. Point is, for an emetophobe, it was a very panic-filled and meltdown-filled Christmas. But, luckily, I made it through with meds still in my belly where they belonged. Victory. But it was miserable and involved lots of crying and my head hurting for 17 hours straight and me shivering and huddled on the floor of my bathroom alone for three hours instead of enjoying time with my family or opening presents.
But I made it through, thank gods, and made it across town to take care of kitties I'm catsitting for, which went well, thankfully. And then I went back over to my parents' place for dinner where I ate mashed potatoes and... actually, just mashed potatoes. And kept them down fine. And, later, Saltines. Success. We watched the last episode of Sherlock (my third time seeing it; I still cried. Watching characters get upset always sets me off more than the actual thing that is upsetting the characters).
It was a nice night, though I didn't get any writing done. And the morning was okay, despite the headache getting steadily worse until all movement and sound and light just about did me in. It was just the majority of the middle of the day when I really wanted to die. Not the way I would have liked to have spent Christmas day. But I'm going to get a good sleep tonight and, hopefully, the last of this headache will go at that point. *knocks on wood*

Date: 2013-12-26 06:16 am (UTC)I cry even at clips from that episode, John just breaks my heart at the gravestone.
Did you see the new Sherlock mini episode? My daughter found it last night, it's on my FB page. It's short but so cute, even made us like Anderson. And Lestrade still sexy:)
Really hope you start feeling better and eat some food that is not white and bland.

Somehow I missed the song link. Very catchy, in case my kids don't think I'm weird enough I may be caught singing it.....

Date: 2013-12-26 10:14 pm (UTC)Sorry yours was less than stellar, though kitty time does sound quite nice.
Loved the multifandom goodies! I spent yesterday working 11 hours then driving another 5 to do a late Christmas with my family so I didn't get a chance to email you properly, but I had so much fun opening them. Thank you!
