tarotgalA slow start today... it's a snow day for me! I woke up at 7:30 to find it hadn't started snowing yet (wasn't even all that cold yet) but my boss had closed the offices for the day due to the impending storm. So I got dressed and made a quick run to the grocery store for a little more gatorade, saltines, applesauce, and soup.
Then I came back home, did some computer stuff and decided to finally upgrade to Windows 8.1. Then I napped and read in bed for a while, watching Supernatural on TNT (the last two episodes of Season 2... starting the day with Carry On My Wayward Son is the best) and watching the snow starting to fall out the window. I finally managed to fall asleep a little and slept through the big finale, but managed to see it up through Dean's deal & hug and then woke up in time for the part where they sit on the impala and talk about their feelings. Yup. Good timing.
Windows 8.1 is installed and messed up all my program display settings, so I'm fixing them one by one.
And, eventually, I'll have to write a snow drabble today. And prompts for the newest porn battle are up on DW. So I might get a little bit of fun writing done today :-) There are lots of crafts I need to do for swaps, but I've been putting those off. I'll see what I can do and just enjoy watching the snow pile up outside. I pay a lot of money in HOA fees every month/quarter and I'm fairly certain that buys one of the best crews in the world. They were out there last time at 1-2am clearing the sidewalks and streets and then again only 6 hours later doing the same. Amazing guys. It's so nice to not have to worry about those things and still get out of my housing development safely.

Date: 2014-01-21 09:07 pm (UTC)I know the company charges the association a flat fee every time they come out to remove snow, so we don't have them come out frequently if we can help it, but it would have been worth it then. But alas, my neighbors are prett much all old and retired and have the option of just hunkering down as long as it takes for things to get cleaned up. So they're disinclined to vote to pay more.
