So I've kind of become obsessed with the 40 Bags in 40 Days cleaning & decluttering project that started yesterday and ends on my birthday: http://www.whitehouseblackshutters.com/40-bags-in-40-days-2014/

I'm REALLY BAD at decluttering. I like things. I like things a lot. And I have a terrible feeling that I throw away something extremely important every time I try to declutter or clean... or something that I will want one day in the future. So I'm starting with areas of my house where I know I really need help and going from there.

I'm really proud of my accomplishments so far and want to share:

Day 1: Kitchen Stove Before (this is the mess of mail I returned to after my trip. I started to sort through it, got overwhelmed, and ran.)

Day 1: Kitchen Stove After (this is my nice, clean stove and kitchen counter. Filled a bag of junk mail recycling, dealt with: bills, swaps, address change form, and an HOA election ballot; so I didn't just get rid of stuff, I properly dealt with all the items there! I'm so proud!)

Day 2: Pantry Before (stuffed full of stuff)

Day 2: Pantry After (threw out SO MUCH expired or stale food. I have so much room on my shelves now I could fit half a grocery store in there! Also threw away several plastic litterbox liners I've had for, like, 13 years that got accidentally stuffed in a trash bag box and never left) And, yes, the apron reads "Flame On!" because I'm a fangirl and love me some Human Torch from the Fantastic Four.

Day 2: Freezer Before (I literally had food slide out onto the floor when putting something in the other day. Not good)

Day 2: Freezer After (I threw out some really old stuff and used the bottom drawer that I honestly never even noticed I had there! I organized a bit as well)

Day 2 Bags: One HUGE & HEAVY bag of food trash (oldest expired foodstuffs items were from 2010... I'm so embarrassed to admit that, but glad I didn't eat it) and one bag of ripped plastic bags that are useless and will be taken to the store to be recycled (why was I holding onto those?)

I also started (slowly) cleaning out my inbox.

I LOVE this idea. I have hoarding tendencies. We just did a big cleaning a couple of months ago but there's still so much more to be done. I could probably do 40 bags just in my cellar.
I think I may join you. I just peeked at the site. It said it could be any bags even grocery bags so I guess on crazy days I could at least do that.
You had a very productive two bags.
I'm going to have to back and check out that site after work.
