A character has a non-stomach flu with a really bad fever and he's freezing cold. He's got on tons of layers and is under blankets but still shivering. So the other character starts turning up the heat in the room/house/car. Turns it up as high as it will go. Which helps. Except now it's broiling and the other character has to keep taking off items of clothing to be mildly comfortable. Bonus points: each item of clothing taken off by the well character is then put on by the sick character
FILLED by
A character travels back in time and happens to run into himself. Only his past self is sick. What's his reaction? "THAT'S what I look like when I sneeze?" or maybe he looks after sick!him/takes care of him or maybe he assumes past-self's identity for a day and does his job for him (or goes on a date for him or something). The possibilities are endless!
FILLED by
A male character (I'd prefer Sam or Dean BUT you know me, I'm cool with everything, so it's whomever you want to write!) has a super awful cold, all congested and achy with really bad chills all the time, so he goes into a hot spring (or sauna?) to relax and try to decongest. Buuut he stays in there a little too long, ends up getting dizzy, and possibly (probably) faints. The aftermath is up to you!
FILLED by
A sickly Dean's interviewing someone for a case, and ends up having a really rough sneezing fit. So rough that whomever he's interviewing bundles him up in blankets on their couch and insists on calling his "partner" to come pick him up. Dean's to busy sneezing and recovering from sneezing to protest.

After missions Clint is usually really wound up (what with all the adrenaline and all) and has found the only way he can calm down is if he uses that energy on Coulson and Coulson is happy to oblige. If it's been really stressful or if Clint's really proud of something one of them did they wind up fucking. If it's been hard because someone died or they made a mistake they slowly kiss and comfort each other (I love the image of Coulson petting Clint's hair). Clint usually wants all of this done ASAP so this usually happens in the first place they can get to alone (an alley, a bathroom stall, the back seat of a car, etc.)
So what happens when the mission is in a cold place where it's snowing or raining and one or both of them are soaked and cold?

FILLED by
At first it's just a headache. Then he's burning up. Then he's swallowing coughs and the arc reactor hurts, and his sinuses are killing him, and each sneeze just makes his head hurt so much worse, and eventually Pepper (or even any of the team, though anon is partial to Pep or Natasha) finds him curled up in his workshop in a little shivering ball of misery, and there is comfort. please LOTS of comfort? :3
FILLED by
Because of the nature of the mission, the communications channel needs to stay open among all agents. Coulson has a cold--not a bad one that would keep him off the mission, just a sneezy one that means every few minutes there's a sneeze coming through everyone's earpieces. It's kind of driving Clint crazy and he can't do/say anything about it because other agents are also listening.
Alternatively, Clint's the one with the cold and keeps sneezing. Coulson wants to be sympathetic and reassuring, but he can't because everyone's listening and he has to be an uptight boss who doesn't want Clint's sneezes to ruin the mission for them all.

Being an all powerful Angel of the Lord, Castiel should never get sick. Unless curiosity gets the best of him and he decides to leaves his heavenly defences off to experiment this particular human condition and the customs associated with it ;-)
Take it as far as you wish :) Bonus point if Castiel does dream walking (in someone else dream) and still sneezes :P
FILLEd by
Cas has a cold and isn't handling it well. So Dean orders him into bed and has to stand sit guard beside him to keep him in bed. And maybe Dean gets bored sitting there and comes up with things to do.
Bonus: Cas lying on his side and Dean resting his beer on Cas's hip.
FILLED by
Castiel, Dean, and Sam are all just chilling together when Cas sneezes his first sneeze in this vessel. And his wings practically explode out of his back directly afterward. Panicked and embarrassed, he keeps trying to re-sheathe them, but the angel keeps sneezing and thwarting himself every time. Turns out, Castiel is sensitive/allergic to _____________.
Bonus: Sammy can't stop making grabby hands for the wings.
Double Bonus: Dean does NOT like Sammy making grabby hands for the wings!
FILLED by
Castiel's had an itching in his sinuses for what seems like days, but being an angel he doesn't understand what it is. Several times he's come to the verge of something-... then, nothing. Tired of being plagued with the tickle in his nose, Cas visits Dean and Sam to get some answers. The boys manage to get him to start sneezing, but after that, they have a hard time getting the angel to stop.
Bonus: One of the boys induces Castiel directly~
Double Bonus: Castiel's sneezes break things. LOL.

Character gets exposed to some weird strain of something known to make patients extremely violent. They're not sure he's caught anything until the first sneeze, and then they're not taking any chances and immediately tie him up. Turns out the character doesn't have the terrible whatever-it-is. It's just a cold. But now he's annoyed having spent time miserable, tied up, and sneezing just in case.
FILLED by
Character insists he's sick. Other character doesn't believe it/thinks he is exaggerating... until the job/mission/whatever is over. And then the other character realizes how bad the other one is and is amazed he made it through at all.

Dad comes home and the apartment is a mess, and he's found Sam walking home from school ALONE and "gee, I am really not feeling well, Dad" doesn't seem to cut it. John suspects his son is simply being lazy and irresponsible. So sick late teens (or early twenties) Dean has to clean the whole apartment, the car, do a TON of drills and run some laps as punishment.
Except maybe it's not a cold but really the flu and--oh, hello, ground! Nice to meet you!
FILLED by
Dean can tell when Sam's coming down with something, because Sam gets clingy. They've got a whole bunker to spread out in... and Sam won't leave him alone for a second.
FILLED by
Dean is cursed to where he constantly feels the urge to sneeze, but can't. He is completely miserable...he can't sleep, can hardly eat or talk because he just keeps hitching and false-alarming, but there is no relief in sight. Maybe he tries a few things to help the sneezing along, but it just makes it worse, and Sam's like 'dude, that's not gonna help, quit torturing yourself even more.'
Meanwhile, Bobby is hard at work trying to break the curse...and eventually he does, which becomes evident to the boys when Dean suddenly explodes into a massive sneeze attack.
FILLED by
Dean is getting a cold. He sneezes once. Then twice. Then three times...Hey, is there a pattern developing here? Apparently Dean has come under the influence of _____ (A curse? The Trickster? Crowley?), so that each time Dean has to sneeze, the number of sneezes keeps increasing by 1. And as the sneeze count grows higher and higher, Dean tries harder and harder to fight off the sneezing...of course to no avail.
FILLED by
Dean finds a kitten during a really nasty storm and he ends up putting it in his jacket and carrying it somewhere safe. Because it would've died Sam, seriously! And Sam's like :3 DEAN!
FILLED by
Dean hooks up with a girl at a bar, and they head to her apartment. As sexytimes are about to ensue, Dean finds out the girl has several cats in the apartment (that like to sleep in her bed) and Dean has a massive allergy attack. Dean tries to leave, but as it turns out, the girl has a sneezkink (which she doesn't tell Dean), and she is determined to make a night of it with her hot sneezy guest. Dean is embarrassed, frustrated, and sneezing his head off, but he's also horny so of course he stays. And the girl is just like, holy crap, I hit the jackpot with this guy.
FILLED by
Dean takes good care of his baby. He likes her kept clean and tidy; he'll get pissed off if Sam's eating a salad in the passenger seat and messy dressing drips onto the seat or a used tea bag is left on the dashboard overnight and makes the whole car smell unnatural for a morning. But when Sam catches a cold, Dean switches to his mode where he takes good care of his brother. And if that means a sea of used tissues all over the place and the sickening cherry scent of cough drops filling the car, then so be it.
FILLED by
Dean wakes up one morning and the very first thing he sees is Sam with a helpless "about to sneeze" expression on his face.
FILLED by
Dean's got a really bad, super sneezy cold. So sneezy he can't possibly drive. But they can't stop, not even for a night. So Sam tucks him into the back seat of the impala. Bonus Points: Dean is sniffly and unable to drive but totally able to criticize Sam's driving.
FILLED by
Dean's just back from Hell and his favorite thing to do is drive his baby. Sam steps aside and lets him, of course. But Dean likes to drive with the music up and the windows down and Sam's got a new allergy to whatever's in this part of the country. Sam doesn't want to bring Dean down, so he pretends it's just a little cold, which means he has to fake sneeze at night when they're stopped at a motel (not hard, as the drive during the day has made him so congested).
FILLED by
Dean is feverish and sick, and by accident discovers that holding a cold beer bottle to his face is really nice and soothing. Sam is out interviewing or something on a case, and he comes back to find Dean really drunk and loopy, hugging a beer bottle (because, y'know, they don't stay cold forever so he had to drink it and get a new one, multiple times. This is sick!Dean logic, okay?). Sam takes care of him. (And there can be sneezing, because, sneezememe.) :D
FILLED by
Dean is sick and crashes hard at the motel. Before he passes out, he tells Sam to wake him up when it's time to go out to do the dirty work (maybe it's a late night salt & burn? Or maybe they need to break in somewhere that will be deserted at night?). But when the time comes for them to leave, Sam doesn't have the heart to wake Dean up, so he deals with it on his own.

Four is sick or allergic when he's administering the simulations for Stage 2 of the Dauntless initiation, at first it seems like it's going to be nothing but annoying, but it turns out to be a pretty effective way of identifying Divergent initiates: they can hear him sneezing from within the simulation.

He knows from experience that this tickle is too strong to be expelled in just one or two sneezes.
FILLED by
His nose is sooooo itchy. He needs to scratch it, but he can't (maybe he's got his hands full at the moment or maybe he doesn't want to be seen rubbing his nose). So he doesn't. But the itch is still there and maybe his hair keeps tickling it or something else does or something's in the air. And it inevitably builds up into a sneeze he can't possibly restrain.

How about some Winchester contagion? The boys getting each other sick, and stumbling around trying to take care of each other while feeling like crap themselves.

Huge storm approaching causes Sam & Dean to pull over at the nearest motel. There isn't one. But they do find a Bed & Breakfast with one available room. Problem is, the storm gets out of hand and it's not safe to leave. So they're stuck in this house for several days. With possibly strange or possibly awesome other people and the owners of the B&B. And with whatever food supplies were on hand. And with several cats. Which make one of the boys sneeze. A lot. And there's absolutely no chance going out for allergy pills.

I was at a museum today and saw a quadrant (not for the first time) and a case for it (for the first time). Being the person that I am, my immediate thought was that the case would be a nice place for Horatio to keep a handkerchief. He could store it there under the pretenses of padding the equipment so it didn't get scratched, but really it would be a convenient spot to stash one in case he needed to use it.

I'd love a fic where Jody has some kind of fling thing going on with Dean, nothing serious or defined but still something. One day while they're together, Dean either winds up suffering from allergies (can't stop sneezing, of course!) or a head cold and Jody gets kind of maternal, which gets Dean's wires crossed. I just really love older woman/younger guy dynamics where there's internal conflict because of mommy issues :') And sneezing. I love that too.
FILLED by
I like the idea of a character -- any character -- needing to sneeze while he's in a position where he has to be quiet for whatever reason. So he's got to look around (maybe it's night time and it's dark, making it extra difficult) for something thick to muffle the fit into.
FILLED by
It's 2014 and the end of the world came and went. Bouncing between drugs and alcohol, Cas didn't realize he was sick until a few sneezes made them run for their life while they were on a tricky supply run, dab into a croats hot zone.

It's Sam's birthday today! And it's right at the beginning of May, during the peak of tree pollen season. Year after year after year.

It's Sam's first job interview, but it turns out that he's really allergic to something in the store. Needless to say, the interview doesn't go that well. Cue Dean being a sympathetic big brother.

Jax has a cold and is staying at his room at the clubhouse (I dunno why--maybe he doesn't want Abel getting sick?). Gemma smothers him with care appropriately but Jax still does the tough guy thing.
FILLED by Anonymous: Sons of Anarchy — Just Like Old Times
Jess has joined the boys on the road on the hunt for their father and the three of them are a thing. Each one of them feels a bit like the outsider (Sam because Dean/hot girl is the norm, Dean because Sam/Jess was a thing before he dropped in, and Jess because these boys have got a bond obviously). But when one of them gets sick (Sam or Dean--or both!) things get real quickly. And we learn who's really good at caregiving.
Bonus points for all three snuggling in a motel bed together at some point
FILLED: by
Jess is just starting to date the mysterious but amazing guy that is Sam. She is ready to take him for all of who he is but there's one thing that's proving to be challenging: it's Sam's allergies (serious bonus points for asthma!!!). You can either write her trying to be a superhero while Sam is miserable OR get her to call Dean in for back up and they get to take care of Sammy together :)
FILLED: by
John is too busy bossing his kids around to realize one of them is getting sick (you get to choose which one!!). Suddenly, the loud sneezing screws up a hunt and almost get the boys into trouble. John will probably be mad at first - like 'hey you almost got us all killed' - but then he sees how his kid is really sick and starts feeling guilty. The rest is up to you!! ;)
FILLED by
John won't let Sam have a dog. That's been pretty well drummed into Sam by now. But John technically never said anything about not having a cat. So what if Sam picks up a stray and hides it in his dufflebag in the back seat? It will be quiet... but Dean won't be quiet for long.
FILLED by
Make Sam really sneezy. I don't care how you do it. I just want can't stop, twenty times a minute, can't talk even though he keeps trying to, massive sneezing fit.
FILLED by
Naomie's been behind the scene for a while now but before she brainwashed Castiel into killing Dean multiple times, before she holed his ass in Heaven to reprogram him again in "Rapture" , she first tried a more subtle approach. She gave him a severe cussing allergy. And of course, nobody cusses as much as Dean. Bonus if Dean's cussing level gets worse as Cas sneezes more and more. And Sam has to shut him up. :)
FILLED by
No, Sam, I do not want to breathe in steam, because it's already 300 degrees in the shade and that won't help this stupid cold. Now shut up and leave me alone until Dad gets home.
FILLED by
Oh, Dean. It started off as just a cold -- annoying, but he can deal with it. And then there's a freak thunderstorm and maybe a tornado warning and the closest refuge is the animal shelter. On cat adoption day.
FILLED by
On a normal day, Sam's puppy dog eyes are good at getting what he wants. But when poor Sammy has a cold and is all pathetic and sniffly, he's capable of melting the hearts of even the most stubborn witnesses, getting free stuff, etc. I'd love to see the Winchesters deliberately using this skill to their full advantage. Bonus points if Sam turns the eyes on Dean in the end.
FILLED by
One of the boys does laundry while he has a cold and is all shivery and sniffly and miserable for an hour and a half and then out come the warm hoodie and blanket and it's heaven.
FILLED by
One of the boys is sick (sneezing, coughing, the works). The other one puts Vicks VapoRub on his chest to help him feel better, but the smell drives his nose crazy (the non-sick one). So now we have two boys -- one sick and pathetic, and the other who can't stop sneezing.
FILLED by
One person isn't feeling well and the other is concerned -- but the story is told only though non-physical mediums. Texting, phone calls, email, etc. They don't have to be physically separated the entire time, but you're only allowed to show the scenes where they are.

Sam and Dean both have colds. Or allergies. Or whatever, as long as they are sneezy. They are in the Impala on the way to a hunt, and one brother voices their concern to the other brother that he doesn't think he can be quiet enough during the hunt, and will put them in danger. An argument about 'control issues' ensues, and this escalates into the boys having a competition over who can go the longest without having to sneeze. Who holds out the longest and what happens next is up to you :)

Sam desperately needs money during college. The only place hiring near campus right now is a garden center, and they hire him on the spot because he's big and tall and can haul heavy things around. Problem is, Sam is allergic to a wide variety of plants. Cue Sam being miserable and sneezy/stuffy at work, and Jess making him feel better when he gets home.

Sam gets a crazy long amount of warning before he's about to sneeze. This is fantastic when they're sneaking around and they're at risk of his allergies alerting someone or something to they're presence, and not so fantastic when it's the middle of the night in Spring, his tickling nose is keeping him awake and Goddamn it he just wants to sneeze!
FILLED by
Sam never had to be good at taking care of himself - that was always Dean's job. To know what kind of medicines worked best and when to take them, how much rest and water he needed, how to make the foods he liked when he wasn't feeling well. Naturally, the first time he comes down with a cold at Stanford is a struggle because he has no idea what to do.
FILLED by
Sam or Dean has a cold and Cas gets SUPER clingy 'cause he's worried. Like, can't keep his hands off the guy kind of clingy. Naturally, he doesn't understand how germs work and getting sneezed on a few dozen times results in...
FILLED by
Sam's feeling sorry for himself, not loving being back on the road. Sam dreams about finding the thing that killed Jess and ganking it so that he can just go back to college and be normal. Then Dean gets sick and Sam saves his butt during a hunt and Sam remembers why he's sticking around.
FILLED by
Sam's sneezes are sudden, explosive, loud, and always startle Dean when he's trying to concentrate on something.
FILLED by
Sam was seriously injured/ill as a child, which required him to be hospitalized for a few days. Dean bought him a stuffed dog to watch over him. Sam pretended to be too old for it at the time, but Dean noticed something in Sam's bag one day and, when he had a chance to secretly investigate, found the old stuffed dog there.
Alternatively: Sam's sick now and Dean goes on a small quest to find a stuffed dog for his brother, similar to the one Sam had back in the day.
Bonus points in either version for Sam snuggling it (either boldly while Dean's watching or when he thinks Dean isn't watching)

So, in Desolation of Smaug, Thranduil has this really nifty-looking pool in or near his chambers. I've had so many thoughts in regards to this. In my mind, it's nice and warm water, and a great place to help freezing princelings to feel better. Or maybe it has healing properties? Or slashy version: sniffly Legolas and his dwarven lover take a little illicit dip in daddy's pool. Will they get caught? ;)
FILLED by
So when Sam first starts at Stanford, he keeps getting all these texts and emails from an unknown source warning him about the pollen count, or if it's going to rain that day (which is refi lupus because the sky has need been more clear) so he should bring a jacket with him to class. At first he thinks nothing of it, but after getting caught in a few wayward storms WITHOUT said jacket, or having a really ad allergy day, he starts doing what they tell him. Eventually he figures out they must be from Dean, right? I mean, who else would try to mother him from who knows how many hundred/thousands of miles away. But imagine his surprise after he joins up with his brother again when the texts and emails keep coming. Turns out daddy dearest cared more about his well being than he thought!

Steve Rogers is definitely not used to Nyquil, digital thermometers, or the concept of streaming Netflix in bed while sick. When he comes down with a cold, someone has to show him the modern ropes!

Teen Sam is going through a growth spurt, and none of his favorite jackets/hoodies fit him anymore. They haven't had time to get him any new clothes lately, either. But Sam is sick and achy and cold, and all he wants is to cuddle up in comfortable layers, so maybe he borrows Dean's jacket when Dean and John are out somewhere.
FILLED by
There's a case at a mountain lodge, and the change in atmospheric pressure has got Sam all congested (swollen sinuses, mostly, maybe a little headache) and then he manages to catch a cold on top of it... although he can't even tell at first, because he was feeling a little "off" to begin with. So he doesn't take care of it properly and it ends up getting kinda worryingly bad (bronchitis? asthma issues? idk up to you) and knocks him on his ass pretty unexpectedly because he didn't see it coming.

There's a really bad ice storm, and Sam's sick, so they take refuge in the first motel they find. But they're also out of cold medicine. Dean's gotta brave the storm while Sam rests in the motel.
