For the month of April, I’m breaking out of my usual “format” and showcasing one of my favorite fandoms a day, so I will have shiny things to make me smile every day of my birthday month. When I sat down to write the list of my top 30 fandoms, I found the task terribly hard. How do I choose just 30? My apologies to all my beloved fandoms left off the list. I’m using random.org to determine what fandom gets what day.

How I Got Into It: I read some fanfic. I’m not a horror movie fan, so I wasn’t really interested in the show and not worried about spoilers. I read the fanfic and really liked what I read. So I gave the series a try. And somewhere around disc 2 of the first season I pretty much ended up buying the DVD boxed sets for 1 through 5 right then and there.

Fangirl Intensity (scale of 1 to 10 with 10=full-out obsessed): 19

How I Fangirl: I haven’t done the cons (want to go but just haven’t been able to) and except for actually watching the show when it airs. I seem to have a hard time watching episode by episode and I need to just inhale a season all at once or I’m too on edge. I’ve made lots of crafts. I listen to SPRock. I write so much fanfiction, host memes, and it’s my desktop wallpaper at home and at work right now.

Weirdest Merch I Own: my license plate is based off the impala’s from the early season, except that I had to add another K because the original was taken

Favorite Fandom Creation: How to Speak Winchester song by Elizabeth Smart and lots of fanfic I can’t mention (it knows I love it)

Why I’m Glad I Fangirl It: All the feels. Seriously. I literally crumpled onto the floor sobbing at the end of season 5. It’s got everything I love: guy bonding, weaknesses, strength, humor, drama, clever plot twists, freakin amazing characterizations, and a world that just keeps getting bigger to play around in. Not to mention an amazing fanbase and writers & actors who get us. I cannot believe I resisted watching for years only to suddenly fall in love so hard, so fast, so completely.
