Three things...

1. I made all sorts of doctor's appointments today for this and next week. I hate making appointments because it means talking on the phone to strangers, but I have been worse lately and had another attack recently and so I knew I had to. So yay. I'm so proud of me. Also, am looking forward to checking MRI off my bingo card of... procedures... what do you mean there's no such thing? Seriously? 'Cause I think I was winning...
2. I friggin LOVE my headcoolie. This thing is saving me right now. My headache went away a little bit earlier tonight but it just returned and I put this thing on and, while my head still hurts, it's something I can suffer through. This thing is THE BEST!
5. BIG thunderstorm just now where I live. I headed out of the library and it wasn't even sprinkling. Between the library and home (a 5-7 minute drive depending on stoplights) there was a HUGE thunderstorm. Massive thunder and lightning. There were times I seriously thought the lightning was going to hit my car. And guess who forgot her umbrella and rain jacket? This gal! So I was sitting in my car, listening to my audiobook, waiting for the rain to die down, when one of my neighbors came walking out of our courtyard toward the cars. He saw me and stopped and gestured at his umbrella. And then, as I got out, he rushed over and put the umbrella over me. Then he held his daughter's little pink umbrella over himself as she escorted me through the courtyard and to my door. I barely got wet. But that was SO NICE! I have never said a thing to this guy before, though I've said hi occassionally. And I've had brief conversations with his daugter. I don't know. This kind of thing doesn't happen where I live, strangers doing something so nice for each other. I just had to share. How sweet is that?

That medical bingo card
Date: 2014-05-29 01:05 pm (UTC)Sure hope you can get an answer and treatment for your ills right soon, it's tough to endure pain long-term and even tougher to live with a medical mystery.

Re: That medical bingo card
Date: 2014-05-29 01:16 pm (UTC)Yeah, I'm coming pretty close to blacking it out. Since just this last September (in this order, I think): blood work at lab, CT scan, GI doctor's office, endoscopy, stomach emptying radiation scan, HIDA scan, stool samples at lab, colonoscopy, ultrasound, general doctor's office, gynacologist's office, X-rays (two separate series), ortho's office, second round of blood work
Not to mention weekly trips to the allergist or the allergy-related visit to my general doctor.
And today I get surgeon's office while tomorrow is MRI! Next week is a second opinion GI. I also get to fill in the "manually photocopies medical records to hand to the doctors in person because my GI's office staff is incompetent" box. And I get to fill in the "drive around half the town trying to find the medical library where my X-Ray results were burned to CD" and the "my GI wants to fix the IBS problems not the horrible pains in my stomach problems and keeps recommending I eat foods that make the pain worse" and the "been on variation of BRAT diet for more than 6 months" boxes! LOL Maybe, at this point, I should make my own bingo card? Hmmm.
So, no, it's not everything, but I'd certainly have a bingo by now if I were playing! LOL
