Posted a short fic over on lotrhpsneeze this afternoon. It's Harry (so people can't say I'm not doing my part when they complain about the lack of Harry fics) but it's a pretty big downer in spots. It's post-Order of the Phoenix and very angst-ridden death-wise, yet doesn't actually come out and say who died because, as much as I love that character, the fic's about Harry dealing. I wrote it in, like, two hours, maybe three, off and on while watching QAF. So it's not my best... but the beginning is good... and I draw some LotR parallels that worked well I think. Or maybe they were too contrived and forced? I dunno. No one's given me feedback so it's hard to tell how much the fic sucks LOL But I wrote it quickly so I'm not expecting much :-)
Actually, it's supposed to be at the end of OotP... right before Harry goes home from Hogwarts. Shoot... I should have mentioned that in the intro... oh well, hopefully people can figure that out when and if they read it, right? :-)

Had a little time to work on 'Giving' tonight, as well. Poor Aragorn... having a cold is NOT easy in such company as Legolas and Gimli. This thing bounces around so much that I'm getting worried no one will be able to follow it... but I've got a beta for it so hopefully huge problems like that will be dealt with before I post :-)

I'm waiting for boyfriend to call so we can go to Walmart. I'm out of frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I NEED my frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! I also need popsycles. Ug. I know. Frozen sugar water does not equal trying to lose weight. But my throat's been killing me (gosh darn allergies) and those are the only things that seem to help sometimes. Plus my fridge is dying so I can only buy frozen stuff now. My freezer still works if I crank it up to its near-highest setting (which is 5, so it's on 4 right now).
But chances are, boyfriend will NOT call and I'll be stuck driving there and back in the middle of the night myself. What do you want to bet he doesn't call? *does her best Ludo Bagman impression*

The frozen sandwiches are for people like me who are too lazy to make their own! (or in my case, a loaf of bread goes bad before I can eat the whole thing on my own) It's actually the funniest thing I've ever seen- I mean, how lazy can society be that they can't make their own PB&J! Smuckers makes peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches, freezes them, then you take them out, defrost them for an hour, and eat. I'm addicted to them- I eat, like, 2 a day (lunch & second dinner)

Glad you liked fallen- I read your review on your list. Must say I was a little surprised to see "LOL" start it off... I pegged it to be a rather depressing fic! lol But it is nice you picked some of the humor out of it, and that stayed with you :-) JKR apparently LOVES the series and really admires Tolkien for his creation of Middle earth and all (which, I do too, as a writer) and some people on one of my mailing lists are having a conversation about "the character who dies in Order" pulling a Gandalf. So that's where the idea came from. There really are a LOT of similarities between their very ambiguous deaths... both struck down when they thought they couldn't be (Gandalf rises, thinking it's gone, then gets smacked down by that last bit of its whip)

Is that a request? Do you KNOW how many stories I'm working on right now? LOL Actually, as much as I loe the hobbits, I can't seem to work myself into a desire to see any of them sneezing. I've been trying to tell myself that a nice "Samwise comforts Frodo" would be right up my alley... but I just can't seem to get into it. Sorry! Hope someone writes one, though!! :-)

Not insulting at all! I put the humor bits in there for a reason. No one else has commented on them, so I wan't sure they were any good. (I don't do humor well) So it was nice that in a story so, er, depressing that that's what you thought to pull out of it and comment on first. Not at all insulting- very nice, actually. :-) So thank you :-)

As for the PB&J(can you tell I'm obsessed with them?) They're called 'Uncrustables' and you can get them most places- every grocery store around here has them (usually near the hot pockets or deserts as they're a little odd category wise) ANd they're made by smuckers. They just came out with frozen grilled cheese sandwiches now, too. I just bought them last night so haven't tried one yet. http://www.smuckers.com/fg/pds/default.asp?groupid=3&catid=46

Oh... you don't microwave them(that's the beauty)... you just take them out of the freezer and let them sit for 30mins to an hour (I wait about 45mins, usually because I'm impatient) and then they're good to eat. Not at ALL soggy or anything. And the bread is perfect... it's really weird... kinda scares me as to how they do it with all their freeze-dry technology.

They're not all that filling, despite that it's 7g of protein. But are a really good snack. If I want a meal, I usually eat 1 or 2 and a piece of fruit.

I dunno... I'm thinking it probably needs a freezer... but I suppose it depends how hold the fridge is and all. If you find them in stores (they're in the frozen foods section) you could probably decide based on how cold the case was...? Sorry!
The only part of my fridge that works (It's dying) is the freezer... so you and I are opposites right now :-) LOL

I usually have about 4 or 5 things in my fridge-jelly, salad dressing, yogurt, butter, syrup, leftovers... I think that's it. So, um, it's not like I really use it all that much anyway... but my yogurt went bad and I had to throw that out... I'll probably throw everything else in it out, too... just haven't bothered to do so yet. Basically all I own is frozen foods, soup and poptarts. I'm not good at cooking :-) So there's not really anything I have to keep cold that's not in the freezer. When that starts to die, I'll call the landlord and ask for a new fridge. I have one of the old models anyway.
