I took a personal day on Friday and drove to the Blue Ridge Mountains (which was a thing on my 101 List). It takes about 2 hours to reach the mountains from where I live, and then it's a drive away from home to get up into them. So I ended up driving about 5 hours away and then swung around and drove back up a different route through Appomattix (which was another thing on my 101 List). It was a fun day of just being with myself, listening to audiobooks, enjoying the autumn leaves, and snarfing all the things.
I also think I came up with an idea for my NaNo story. It's based off this Clint/Coulson image that's been in my head for months now, but I didn't know what to do with it. Now I think I have an idea. I don't know where the story is going or how it will end, but I've got a concept that's big enough to last a month. So we'll see what happens :-)
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone :-)

Date: 2014-10-19 02:23 am (UTC)I'm glad that you came up with an idea for your NaNo piece. I was thinking about one of the longest pieces I ever attempted but never completed where I tried to write a part that took place during each month of the year. I don't know, it seemed like good inspiration at the time but it was years ago, and, like I said, I gave up on it and it was never completed and nothing came of it.
If I remember correctly I think you posted once that you were writing a Marvel big bang piece? Out of curiosity, are you still working on that or did you post it somewhere? Either way I am looking forward to reading some new pieces from you. :-)

Date: 2014-10-19 03:09 am (UTC)I'm really excited about the NaNo piece. It's Clint/Coulson with Coulson in a time loop and Clint with a head cold. It practically writes itself. heehee!
Your piece taking place during each month sounds like a neat idea; sorry it didn't work out for you. Sometimes fics don't. But the ones that don't work just leave room for you to write ones that do work.
The big bang went bust, so I lost my motivation to finish that piece. But it's a story I've wanted to write forever, so I don't want to give up on it yet. I actually redid the outline for it a little bit ago. I hope to work on it again soon, but probably not until the new year, given giftfics coming up right after NaNo. It's Wolverine/Cap/Iron Man with Clint/Coulson in the background.
