Website's down
Feb. 13th, 2003 01:10 amGetting a little impatient with buildpage, which hosts my webpage. It's down for an upgrade and has been that way for nearly a week now. They say to be patient, but it's starting to get a bit annoying and I'm quite sick of searching around for another free host. However, I know I need to since buildpage kicked all my wavs and movies off (smart on their part, bad for me) I know we're no longer in the great glory days of free space, but I would really just love one place that lets me host my own site without many advertisements and with completely unlimited space.
I'd run my pages off my own server but my bills would be staggering and if I move away at the end of the summer, I'll just run into the problem all over agian. *sigh* Why must this be so difficult? :-)

Thanks!
Acutally, buildpage has unlimited space- UNLIMITED. That's such a nice word. Xoom (five years ago before they went under) had the same. The one you suggested looks great, but it's only 100mbs which fills up VERY fast with wavs and especially with movies. That's, like, 15 movie clips or a few decks of wavs and I've got hundreds if not thousands by now.
I might be able to move most of TG's Realm over there to fit but the Realm is about 250mbs with all the sound wavs unzipped (as they used to be with buildpage) I could probably get down to 150mbs with them zipped but that's still a lot.
Ug. Why isn't anything free? :-)
I don't want to have to spend money on the site, but I might have to one of these days. I'm toying with the idea of hosting TG's Realm myself and figuring something else out for Tarot of Sneezing... but even then the bandwidth will cost a load of money. The other problem is a lot of places have terms that disallow adult material- which, technically, both of my sites are.
*sighs* Sorry to complain. I *do really* appreciate the reference- it looks really nice and I might have to investigae further. :-) Thanks!!

Date: 2003-02-13 03:36 pm (UTC)Ok, so I didn't know personal was unlimited. Odd. I want it to come back up so my wallpapers work again. I'm all... withdrawl-y.
You're welcome, even if it was a crap suggestion. Whoo!
