That moment you start rewatching the Horatio Hornblower miniseries and suddenly realize that the scene where Horatio catches a bad cold and spends a day in his hammock being tended to by Archie didn't actually happen outside of fanfic.

I wish. I'm pretty sure that if that had actually happened, that moment would not only be burned into my brain, but it would be one of my icons.

Oh, no specific episode, I just started rewatching the series so that I could get a good idea about when to set your fic and I was like "ooooohhh remember that time that Hornblower catches a cold and Archie... aw, crap. That's totally fanfic, isn't it? Not actual canon. Darn." For, like, 2 seconds I had myself believing it was real. I know I've written it a bunch of times. I guess I've just integrated it so fully into my headcanon I'd tricked myself :-)
