Whoohoo!

*does a happy dance* I just knocked out a HUGE part of my system for my thesis! WHOOHOO! And I've got committee members, which is sort of important, too :-)
But YAY! Happy me!

I think I'm going to celebrate by trying to finish a short fic I started yesterday. Then I'll work on the next HUGE chunk and try and get the whole damn thing done by tomorrow morning's meeting with advisor *crosses fingers*

Just felt like sharing :-)

Hrm... am thinking about putting together a yahoo group for my sites. That way people could just check it or get e-mails to know when I've updated. People could donate small things to TOS easier (just uploading it- be it pic or wav or story, then I'd move the files to TOS at the next update). And people could possibly even discuss sections, materials I've put on the sites, suggestions, etc.

Any thoughts? I honestly am not sure I want tons of free-formed discussion on the list, based on discussion boards I've run in the past. But I think it might be a fun experiment and would be helpful to some people.
Or maybe this is just overkill and people will stumble upon my updates/contributions when they see them.
I should probably ask this on the main forum... but I'm really not into that place any more *sigh* Too many memories of happier days in the past and too many memories of less happy days recently. Plus I trust the people who read this' opinions much more. Y'all have a higher average for common sense and logic than most of the community *G*

Any thoughts?

I attempted to write a 100-minute-fic... but went over the limit. Anyway, I just posted the result on sneezefic. It's a Harry Potter story with Sirius and James called 'Growing Up a Little' Hope it's all right. I'm half asleep with quite a bit of work left to do before my meeting today so I didn't really edit *bites lip nervously*

Anyway, enjoy... or not :-)

Finished!

Well, I finished everything I had intended to finish by the dry run today. It's not heavily tested so it will probably break BIGTIME when we try it out and there's no way for me to restart it remotely. So all I can do it hope there are no huge problems that make the system crash. Maybe I'll burn it only CD juuuuuuuuuust in case...

BUT point is, YAY! Finished the draft of the implementation! Boyfriend's going away this weekend, so I plan to spend it renting movies in celebration and setting to work on actually writing the damn thesis :-)

Anyway.. I'm off to bed... boy my hands and wrists HURT from typing. But I need a hot shower and sleep. Meeting is in five hours. *crosses fingers*

Yeah, I know, TMI :-) But hey, I've been bitching so much I thought happy news wouldn't hurt, right? Go, read story if you want something more on topic *G*

More about the Yahoo group I had in mind...

Well, I didn't really mean for it to be a smaller discussion sort of thing... sorry... looks like I'm not doing a good job of describing things lately. I meant I just didn't want to propose the idea on the "main" forum. As it would be mostly an announcements sort of thing and discussion revolving around my sites, I wouldn't want to limit it. BUT if a smaller discussion area is what people want, maybe I'll think about that, too? *shrug*

I'm currently really pissed at Yahoo, though. They just killed the Master_Apprentice list. Apparently Yahoo's on a moral rampage or something. Not that I'm into chan-slash, but the Jedi boys are a heck of a lot closer to legal and... um... I dunno where I'm going with this. Point is, it was a kick-ass list and now it's been killed and I'm not happy about that. And I know it's back up, but the point is, Yahoo kicked it off in the first place. If they even THINK about killing off my other slash lists- especially SBRL I'll never use Yahoo again!

Oh, I'm in TEARS! I'm SO happy.
I just watched the end of the (4th is it?) Amazing Race. Reichen and Chip (the gay couple) came in first. They were fantastic, oh, I was SOOO happy for them. I love this show, but it's always the endings that get me- when all the other teams are there cheering for the winners- it's SO nice to see such support for the winners even though they lost- everyone looks SO happy and they really understand all the hard work the teams went to in order to finish first. I feel kinda sorry for the third place team who had problems with their flights and couldn't make it to the end in time to meet the cheering group :-(

Anyway, it was SO uplifting- and SO nice to see the gay guys win. Their love and support of each other, even though they're so similar they clashed a lot (both wanting to be in control at times which sometimes led to mistakes), was WONDERFUL to see on the show- they really knew their stuff and worked hard and awwwwww, crying and hugging at the end. They SO deserved it. And it's NICE especially because they got married a year ago and got to celebrate their anniversary during the race- crying with happiness as they informed the other teams. Oh, it was a NICE ending. Kelly and John (second place) kinda got on my nerves, but they're just very demanding, outgoing people- unlike me. Still, Kelly was the last woman in the race for the last something like 6 legs, so that impresses the hell out of me.

ANYWAY... YAY Chip and Reichen!!!!!!!! *raises cup* Here's to showing America/world what two committed gay guys can accomplish if they're smart and supportive and dedicated. I'm quite impressed :-)
