Writing & Hornblower question

So, yeah, I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year (NaNoRebel, really, as I'm writing a TON of different things). It's going all right, but could be better. This is what NaNoWriMo tweeted earlier today:

NaNoWordSprints: Time for a 15-minute sprint! Write those novels! Optional dare: have one of your characters catch a terrible cold. #nanowrimo

Do they know who they're talking to? *delights in doing just that*

On a related note... I need help from someone who knows the Horatio Hornblower fandom better than I do. I need to know what book it was before Horatio got married to Maria (i.e. after the peace of Amiens when he was... was he decommissioned?). And I need to know what rank he, Bush, and Pellew were at that point in time. Maybe we don't know Pellew's, but I guess I could look that up in the man's real timeline? Can any of you brilliant fanboys/fangirls help me with this?

Horatio's on half-pay at the very end of "Lieutenant Hornblower", and just like in the episode "Loyalty", he WAS a commander, but then demoted back to lieutenant. Bush, I think, was still a lieutenant. *Is a huge Hornblower nerd*

Like I said, I'm doing NaNoRebel this year, so it's just a ton of different things (mostly short stories, but at least one newsletter article and maybe a little of a graphic novel).

Thanks so much for the Hornblower info! I thought he was demoted during peacetime, but I wasn't absolutely sure what he was demoted to :-) You wouldn't happen to know Pellew's station at the point? Was he an admiral during Loyalty/Duty? I see that he's appointed to Rear Admiral in 1804 but what about 1802? I see that he was an MP then (Member of Parliament) Why doesn't any site just give me a suitable timeline for the man? *frustrated*

Sorry, I don't know about Pellew. He wasn't in "Lieutenant Hornblower" like he was in the mini-series. I think he was a commodore in the mini-series, which may be the best way to go for your story.


So how does NaNoRebel work? I've only done the Novel before (and I'm semi-ashamed to admit that I once cracked on DAY ONE and put something sneeze related in).
